I added my free line two days ago. Would it still be possible to take advantage of this BYOD promotion?
I just added a free line today without knowing Costco deal, I think it's still 14 days we can get it from Costco and T-Mobile rep can remove the other line.

Ha ha... I feel the same when they recite their lines while signing few forms..

This helps. I better ask them to call TMobile rep while I'm in the store.

I've bought a port in number on Ebay for $8 if that helps.

Google voice is not accepted for port in. Its standard for TMobile.
Can u pls share ebay link to get port in number for tmobile pld

Postpaid accounts only. BYOD rebate isn't eligible for prepaid services. However, you can use your XR.
But I am not a TMo customer. Do I sign up for a new postpaid plan when going for BYOD rebate?

This is what rep replied when asked :- Good question! Not available for

Sprint port-ins
Prepaid accounts
NCC / SCNC accounts
Legacy Sprint migrations
Lifeline accounts
Contractor / Dealer accounts
Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) device purchases
JUMP! upgrades on added lines
JUMP! On Demand upgrades
Standard upgrades on existing lines
T-Mobile for Business (Business Telesales, Dedicated Experts, SMB, Direct and Partner Solutions)

Verizon is also eligible, I double check the Boost mobile is also a prepaid account that is why its uneligible.

I went to Costco today and asked for the BYOD $200 promotion. The rep in charge at Costco insisted that I won't be eligible for the "add free line" promotion even though I am on T-Mobile one plan. He insisted that it will work only for the Magenta plan. He showed me the promo page that says it is only valid for the magenta plan with at least two paid lines. I had confirmed earlier with a T-Mobile rep that my plan is eligible for free promo. Costco rep says t-mobile reps are wrong. He says my plan will be eligible for free line at t-mobile store but not at Costco. I came back without adding the line.

Anybody who added the line at costco on/after 11/27/20 got the confirmation of the free? My SOC is FRLTUL4LP

I added the costco line on the 27th. The kiosk only speculated on the free line, but said that it's handled on the back end. Took his word for it and added a line as per the usual. (I have TMobile One- FRLTULF2).

As per that, it did indeed get added as a free line as of this afternoon... So it took about 24 hrs. I confirmed this through the website. Happened automatically.

So in summary, it doesn't matter who adds the line... Any line added by any way will auto be free... As long as your plan is eligible.

3rd party makes sure the IMEI you gave at costco store is active.. Thats all.. There is no risk there unless you sell the phone with that IMEI.
Quote from BondT :
what do you mean "active"? like when they check for the gift card they can look at the IMEI number on that line? the third party can access to tmobile system to check that?
The most likely scenario is Costco Rebate will ask T-mobile if Phone # 123 is still active or not after 3 months. That's why they ask for permanent number. The IMEI may not matter at that time anymore. What if you loose your phone on day 2.

Hey, as long as your SOC code is on this list then u should be good man. Just dont ask about free line, just tell costco rep u wanna add a line with the $200 promo. If your SOC code qualifies based on the list here, then the system will automatically gives it to u for free. Dont bother arguing with the costco reps as they're clueless lol
