What you can do is wait and open a new T-Mobile account for your P2 when T-Mobile offers next Hookup Insider 20% discount and move your 4 lines to that account. Would be $112 with one line for free, or if you are lucky, $96 with two free lines (if T-Mo has additional Line on Us promo at the same time with Hookup).
On TMobile One plan with 4 lines. Eligible for the free line promo so went to Costco to add it which they did. They gave me a new number, filled out the rebate form with that new number, and told me I had to submit the rebate with this number on it.
I told him I planned on porting a number as my permanent number on this line (didn't have the account info with me at Costco so couldn't just have him do it at the same time). He said if I did that, the Costco rebate wouldn't pay out as the number in the account(ported in number) would be different than what is on the form.
Doing the port in to take advantage of the T-Mobile rebate but now thinking I'll just leave as is - would rather get $200 than $100! Or just go back to Costco with the account info to have them to the port and update the rebate form.
Have others here ported in after being assigned a temporary number in the store? And then submitted their rebate with the ported in number without going back to Costco??
What do you mean by "They gave me a new number, filled out the rebate form with that new number, and told me I had to submit the rebate with this number on it." Also, what do you mean by "go back to Costco with the account info to have them to the port and update the rebate form."
There is no mail-in rebate form or hard copy to update or submit. The rebates are submitted online. Unless the Wireless Advocate (WA) rep at Costco actually submitted your rebate online for you, which is highly unlikely, then it should not matter what the WA rep told you or wrote on your documents.
If you ultimately port in a different number, the phone number you received by adding the line at Costco essentially acts as a temporary number until the port is completed. The port number then replaces the "Costco number" and becomes your permanent number. When you submit your rebates, the forms require the permanent number, which is now your port number.

Sorry, maybe this question has been asked already. If the number is ported, is there additional online submission needed for the $100 port in credit? Thanks.

Yes. there are two rebates. One is for $200 (Costco deal) . The other is for $100 (T-mobile deal).

Thanks for the quick reply. If the port is done over the phone, where does one obtain the paperwork to submit for the $100? I wasn't planning on porting but may change my mind.

I think there is a link in the other thread for the $100 T-mobile Promotions rebate.
The promo code is 2020SWITCHP2 if you prefer to search for it yourself on T-mobile Promotions.

I am not sure .. does tello use tmobile network.. personally I would not risk $100 .. and would go for att or numbers for portin
I'm with you and just don't want to risk losing my Tello account. I've had the same number for over a decade plus a lot of perks on the account. Officially Tello uses Sprint and T-Mobile bought Sprint so Tello users might be caught in the middle.

What I mean is that on the Costco rebate instruction form (titled "T-Mobile Rebate Redemption Form") they give you when you add the line, there is a bunch of info filled on it along with the submission instructions. One of the items filled is the "Activated Permanent phone #". The Costco WA filled this in with the number they gave me at the store and told me I had to submit the online rebate with the number indicated on the form. He said if I ported in another number to replace what is on that form, the Costco $200 rebate would not go through. He said the number on the form had to have the permanent ported number.
Not sure whether to believe him or not but he said he could port it for me once I had the account number and fill the paper form out the correct was so he could submit the paperwork with the correct permanent number. He did not submit the rebate for me.
That's what I was trying to say and trying to confirm if there is any validity to him having to resubmit the paperwork with the ported in number or not. Thanks.

The form tells us to go online and fill in our permanent number. Considering that many ports are not instataneous (mine took 24 hours), I doubt that we are the only people in this scenario. We got a temporary number whether we liked it or not.
We are instructed "do not use a temporary number." That spells it out to me.
I went to Costco and did the BYOD and got a new permanent number along with a new SIM card. I submitted my rebate online with the new permanent number along with the IMEI number. My question is will the Costco $200 giftcard cancel out if I port my dad's number and his phone to obtain the $100 gifcard with the free line? Please advise! Thanks!
I just came back from Costco wireless kiosk, the guy gave me 5 sim card and asked me to do the port out myself. Any instruction on what to do to transfer the old phone number to T-mobile? also I wonder if I transfer some number from prepaid wireless provider using t-mobile network like tello, would that cause any issue?
