The last "free line" wasn't free, and made me lose my grandfathered plan, even though I was promised multiple times it was fine. Proceed with caution.

It was free for me. And still is. And I've been in a grandfathered plan for years. Didn't change mine. Aorry about yours.

Pretty new to T-mo. Still seems wild that every once in a while they just let you add a random line for free. If I can do this one, I'll be up to 2 (I know...I'm a noob) free lines and total monthy bill for 4 Magenta lines of $96 with insider discount. $24/line for unlimited seems pretty great.

T-Mobile just told me I have to have only 2 paid lines (I have 4) to be eligible for a free line. Any idea?

I believe you can add an additional deposit of $250 for another line of over 12, is this correct?

Don't know exactly what that means, but thanks. I will find out!

Never mind, I see the link. So I just go to Costco, add a line (and presumably buy a phone)? Anything I need to ensure that the line I'm adding is free, or just do the transaction and hope for the best?

And now I see that it's BYOD. So I just show up at Costco with an existing phone, which I have...walk out with a free line and a $200 Costco card. Just seems silly, but I'm all over it.

Even if the rate is free, they charge taxes and fees on the free line so your bill goes up.
That's if you have a tax exclusive plan. Most of T-Mobile plans are tax inclusive so no taxes

Also starting 111/25: $100 port-in rebate:
Port in a number to T-mobile on a new line (including the free one) and get a $100 rebate up to 4 times. Details on this promo will be added when available.

For this deal, does this mea the line you port it can count as the free line? Also, will I be able to keep the existing phone number?

What's the best way to port, dial in to #611 ?

A free line means a free line.
You still have to pay taxes which shouldn't be too much.

Thanks. Found my soc code. I signed up with tmobile 2 years ago with with the Tmobile one plan (2 lines) and got the 3rd line for free. So can I add a 4th line for free?

Do you have to have a certain amount of paid lines to get a free line?

T-Mobile is telling me I don't qualify because I have 4 paid lines only right now.
