The last "free line" wasn't free, and made me lose my grandfathered plan, even though I was promised multiple times it was fine. Proceed with caution.

It was free for me. And still is. And I've been in a grandfathered plan for years. Didn't change mine. Aorry about yours.

This is huge, again...I think I can get one more. I have 4 paid and 3 free lines right now on my one plus promo plan. I thought I remember reading, this plan can have up to 8 lines total. Anyone know for sure?

Can someone help me understand - what do you use the free lines for? Serious question. I'll give you an example. In my family me and my wife each have a phone, and so we are both on the magenta plan. Our 2 kids are too young to have a phone. In this case, why would I want an extra free line?
Quote from juvinious :
Maybe for the future for them if you intend to stay with T-Mobile long term. I got a free line early this year for my youngest (6 yo) and will pass down my oldest son's flip to him to use for emergencies.
I was going to say the same thing. If you plan on staying with T-Mobile you will have free lines for the future when you decide your kids are old enough for cell phones.

Such a scam. There are actually lawsuits out right now against Tmobile for these free like promos. You qualify via the representative and by checking your rate code, then get billed each month, with Tmobile stating the free line credit can take up to 3 bill cycles. After 3 months, they state you never qualify.

It's a huge hassle, and your many times out the sim card fee regardless of Tmobile screwing you. All they want is quarterly line increases for more investment securities.

Google it, class action lawsuits currently being litigated. And plenty of individual lawsuits opened recently.
You can chat in with T-Force once you see the charges on the account and have them credit your account before your payment debits. I had to do this last time with free line activated through Costco. Had to chat in 3 times, but never actually had to pay those charges.

Yeah, that's what I mean. So the only phone offer that stacks with this free line is the 4a 5g?
There's a few others like 50% off a OnePlus 8+, etc. You can check the phones page on the tmo website while in incognito and look at the magenta text above each phone to see offers.

Does the 10SCFM4 count under 10SCFM4L or is that a separate plan all together?
Quote from FairActivity461 :
I have 10SCFM4 which is not on the list but 10SCFM4L is. Are those the same plans?
10SCFM4 is different from 10SCFM4L. Be careful if a rep says you're eligible! Other SDers have gotten a rude awakening since a rep didn't look that closely since the plan numbers are so easily confused. 10SCFM4 has been exempt from these free lines for at least the past 2 or 3 times now.

Do you know, if Costco $200 would stack with $100 BYOD promo? Also, any idea, if I have to mention free line at Costco, and, lastly, does T-Mobile account name and Costco membership name need to match?
I'm not familiar and don't have experience with costco deals, but if there's no fine print on the deal and it's still available as of tomorrow they probably will stack. You shouldn't need to mention free line, it will be automatic. Not sure about the last one but my guess would be no.

Sprint $15 Kickstarter user here and have 2 paid lines, I tried to reserve a free line, but it is asking me to select/switch to a more expensive plan, does anyone have any insights on how to add it to my existing Kickstarter plan?
Not familiar enough with sprint plans to be sure about anything, but if it's saying you have to change plans it likely means you don't qualify for some reason. You can chat into support and see if they can tell you why.

Pretty sure all military plans do not qualify as they are already heavily discounted.

Did anyone try getting a free line then latter cancel the line that is not free? I have 4 paid lines in my plan. Wondering if T-mobile is going to reduce the monthly payment if I cancel the paid line in the future.
