The last "free line" wasn't free, and made me lose my grandfathered plan, even though I was promised multiple times it was fine. Proceed with caution.

can someone add a wiki that details what is and what isn't covered? there seems to be a lot of contrasting information in these 25 pages. OP did a good job detailing the initial post however, questions like: How many paid lines do I need? Best way to port GV? etc are left unanswered or answered with different responses.

Oh, I got the free line offer from last slickdeal, and that one doesn't offer free data. Hopefully this one does.
It should've. If I were in your shoes, I'd talk to T-Mobile help (chat, call, message on Twitter/FB) and see if they can fix the problem or if there's an explanation why your line didn't get data on it.

Is this only for existing customers? Does new account and new line eligible?
The past couple of times this came up, you could sign up as new customer the Day before the promo started. . .so as to grab new customer Free 3rd line with 2 paid lines. . .and then the next day claim free 4th line

That's what I did the end of June.

Does this work with the ONE 55+ plan?
If it is the plan with the SOC ONE60TIFM then I don't think so since that code isn't included on the list that has been shared in the OP.

Such a scam. There are actually lawsuits out right now against Tmobile for these free like promos. You qualify via the representative and by checking your rate code, then get billed each month, with Tmobile stating the free line credit can take up to 3 bill cycles. After 3 months, they state you never qualify.

It's a huge hassle, and your many times out the sim card fee regardless of Tmobile screwing you. All they want is quarterly line increases for more investment securities.

Google it, class action lawsuits currently being litigated. And plenty of individual lawsuits opened recently.
Well, sucks to be one of those people. I have got all three I've tried for this year and they always show up on the first bill. Therefore, I'll go for the 4th one too

Even if the rate is free, they charge taxes and fees on the free line so your bill goes up.
That's only if you have a plan that doesn't include tax and fees

Dang, I am in the same bout, joined 5 months ago, about to have 4 free lines after tomorrow. I didn't even think of trying to get the 20% hookup added via chat - is that expired now? I can't remember if that required a code or not? How did that conversation go?
Hookup 20% is only available on new accounts. But spent a few weeks with Exec care because of Sprint former Customer Curse. . .which wouldn't allow my "sister" to open a TMO account in Sept when they had 20% hookup and back to back free lines (on top of $250 BYOD's). . .in the end they said they couldn't add the free lines because by they time they fixed the glitch and got her TMO account opened she missed out on being able to get a 2nd free line plus hookup. Told them I would just add her lines to my account if they would just throw a hookup on my existing account. . .and be done with the headache for all. . .and it was added to account the next week.

Here's my plan. Go to Costco, explain deal and add line (I know they probably won't know about promotion, but I'll explain anyway). Get $200 gift card for that eventually. Go home and chat with T-mobile to verify line added was free and nothing got screwed up with other lines. Go to T-mobile store and buy S20 FE with a $500 trade in credit from old S7 I have USING A DIFFERENT LINE that is upgrade eligible. Net with Costco GC is then $0+tax on phone. Yes, I have to wait to get that "net $0" with the GC and bill credits, but I'm good with that myself, others may not be.

If your plan qualifies, add a line in whatever method you want. If you call in, the reps don't do anything different (like somehow coding the line is free). They just add a line like you can yourself online. And if you do it online, it will seem like you're adding paid line (no mention of it being free anywhere) but it'll be free if your plan qualifies. There is a $10 sim card fee and, if you call or go in store, a $20 assist fee. Some have gotten those waived by nice reps.

Some might prefer to add the line at Costco as it should net you a $200 Costco card.
