The last "free line" wasn't free, and made me lose my grandfathered plan, even though I was promised multiple times it was fine. Proceed with caution.

I added a line via Costco and got a new number. I also bought a number to port in for a $100 rebate. When submitting for a rebate, what number do we use? How would Tmobile know the port number?
This confuses me - why not just do it all at Costco. Is there a reason you can't you use your BYOD and port all at once?

The line showed $0 when I logged into my acct. I told Costco that I wanted to add a line with a new number then port in the number afterward online as someone suggested on this thread.
Are you able to confirm that you got $200 Costco Cash Card for adding a new line? Thanks!

Worked for me to add a free line onto my account. Don't have a need for it now but figured it was worth adding onto the account. Rep said I'd need to pay $10 for a SIM card to be sent to me. Rep also added on a bill credit for it so it's a wash. Free 3rd line to have and my $80 a month 2 line plan stays the same in price.
Won't you have to pay the taxes on the free line every month? On my plan it costs about $4/mo so I'm still undecided if I want the free line.

We have 7 lines on my current T-Mobile plan and We want to add 2 more lines. Can we add 2 lines at Costco with BYOD and get the $200 and 2 free lines or will it only be 1 free line and one $400 from Costco?

is there a limit to how many free lines you can get per account? is it just one?

that's what I'm wondering, is there a limit to this deal? It sounds like it might just be max 1 free line?
You only get 1 free line per account. But you can open more paid lines if you want for the $100 rebate and/or $200 Costco card.

No reason not to do it all at once at Costco if you prefer ... your choice.

This is confusing indeed, but I wanted to make sure that I'm doing exactly as the experts on here suggested so I can get that $100. Wish someone can post a procedure for us rookies to follow. laugh out loud

Taxes and fees are only on the old plans. Since 2017, One and Magenta plans don't have those anymore and the free lines are completely free.
