The last "free line" wasn't free, and made me lose my grandfathered plan, even though I was promised multiple times it was fine. Proceed with caution.

unlocked or tmobile phone only, locked to another carrier would not work. I did not port in Costco, but now I am wondering if I should have done it there since I am not sure adding the port in number might invalidate the costco promo. If you go to costco you can check with them if the imei and phone number would need to match for the rebate or if we can port in later, that would be helpful information for others like me.
Got it! Thank you,

Thanks for the playbook on the one shot gameplan.

Question: is your unlocked phone tied to this new AAL or can you just take the new AAL SIM out & not use it? i.e. does a phone have to be active (used) on this new AAL?
Good question. The T-mobile rebate redemption form that the Costco Rep printed, here's what it says under Offer requirements - Eligibility:
"In warehouse only. This offer cannot be combined with other promotions. Device must be active for at least 3 billing cycles."

I was told only the pixel and iPhone 12 mini was part of this deal. No other phone and certainly not the S20 FE. I am starting to feel this could be one of those things where the reps tell you something different. But all three I connected with say the same thing.
I confirmed the same thing with a rep of 11 years at T-Mobile. I can go to Costco, add the line, port in there, and come home and process a trade-in for the free pixel

Which plan do you have exactly? I have the SC unlimited 4/$150. Is this the plan you have? I'm trying to take advantage of the free line but I know usually we are excluded. TIA.
Yes, mine is the Simple Choice Unlimited.

Good luck to you. I confirmed everything through chat and then by phone. If the rep couldn't find anything for me, I was going to give him this code SCFUTTBD. I think that is the code that shows eligibility.

Check my scheme please?

Objective: maxmize AAL bonuses + get an iPhone 12 Pro Max without monthly bill credits.

Steps in sequence:
1) Go to Costco and add a line on TMO to get the $200 Costco offer:
https://slickdeals.net/f/14602288-costco-add-a-line-t-mobile-byod-get-200-costco-shop-card

2) And same time as #1 - get the Tmobile $100 port-in rebate
https://www.t-mobile.com/offers/p...onaloffers

3) Go to Apple.com & purchase thru the Apple/TMO Addl $150 on top of $450 trade-in offer for my iP11 Pro.

So net is: $200+100+150+450-1099 = $199 for an iPhone 12 Pro Max.

Question - do I have to put ANY phone on the new AAL?

Let me know if you do go to Costco - would be interested in knowing.

Just got back - took like 45 mins - was 2nd in line - first in line was just asking about existing promos -

Took 45 mins because rep wanted to call T-Mobile to make sure it's free. That took a while... Plus agent is new so need constant help from better knowledge rep. Funny thing is, after me, everyone came in just to add a line and Costco agent no longer need to call T-Mobile to verify. So their is much faster ....

I have T-Mobile ONE - and this is my 12th line.

I just hope the new agent enter the correct info on the rebate. One line says "activated permanent phone #" but he entered my main account existing tel#..... not the newly activated number.... anyone know?

Now I just need to do port in - in a few days - I wanted to make sure Costco $200 worked.
That number should be the new number u are trying to claim for the rebate

My costco rep seeems to know his stuff.

Hi all,

I just chatted with a nice T-Mobile rep and he added the free line for me. I have an older
Simple Choice Unlimited Promotion. I asked if I could get the Pixel 4a 5G with the 50% off promotion using the free line. He confirmed that I could.

I have a Pixel 2 that has been sitting in a drawer not being used, so I asked if I could trade that in and make the 50% off offer free. First he said no but then he checked and said he could do it.

I ordered with him over the phone. He waived a $20 fee for activation. I paid $40 upfront (the tax and sim card $30 + $10) and the phone will be here in 5 business days. There is no tax on the new, free line. There is only a regulatory fee of around $3 per month.

So, I added a free line, got the Pixel 4a 5G for free, and can use the phone on my current line and have the free line for use for another family member if I want. The other added benefit is that I kept my current line free for any future promotions that may come up over the next 24 months if I decide to take advantage of it. Oh...and the Pixel 2 will add another $18 credit to my bill.

I kept having the rep confirm the details and reiterating that everything would be as discussed. He assured me that it would. I am hoping for no hiccups or worse.

Good luck to others here who are hoping to take advantage of this deal in a similar way.

Did you pay full price + taxes upfront ? or just the taxes ?

My SOC Code is : NAFUTT4

Added 1 last time , now added another.

Total paid : $10.89 (Sim Card + Ground Shipping)

CS waived $20 activation.
The chat rep told me that same plan was not eligible to do the free line and pixel trade in. Said I had to change plans. hmmmm

I just called in and asked about the free line and he said your plan is eligible.
Don't go by that. I signed up for a line last time. Multiple reps told me the plan was eligible. Ultimately I am still paying for that line.

I saw the OPs post about promo exclusion but would this stack with the following one:

Get 50% off the new iPhone SE.

I mean the iPhone SE is $400, at 50% off it's not bad.

thanks

So if you add a line at Costco, how would you know if that would be free? Will it reflect in your account that it's free? Or you need to call t-mobile later? I have t-mobile one plan.
I added a line at Costco. It showed up under my account as "2020 Line on Us 3 (Additional Lines)"

I don't think Costco BYOD $200 promo, and the Pixel trade-in will stack. It is one or the other, not both.

Costco's rebate redemption form states:

"In warehouse only. This offer cannot be combined with other promotions. Device must be active for at least 3 billing cycles."
