The last "free line" wasn't free, and made me lose my grandfathered plan, even though I was promised multiple times it was fine. Proceed with caution.

Did you pay full price + taxes upfront ? or just the taxes ?
Just the $30 tax and 10 for the sim card. $40 out the door

For those asking if military plans are eligible. Unfortunately they are NOT. Just walked into a T Mobile store and was told this when he looked up my account.

Did you mentioned free line promotion or just said you want to add a line? Just making sure if we have to say something specific or not
I didn't mention the free line. All I asked the Rep was to add a line. I also ported the number from GV. The whole process took 15-20 minutes at most. The rep was good and knew what he was doing, so it all went nice and smooth.

Heading to Costco right now. I'm relatively new to this stuff (I added a free line over the summer via T-force, but haven't done any of this at Costco before and I am relatively new to phone deals).

Here's what I want to do:

1) Add a line at Costco for the $200 rebate (this should be easy. I checked and my SOC qualifies).
2) Get the Pixel 4a 5G deal. I initially thought I could only get 50% off with a trade in, but I'm reading from the OP and some reports here that this new free line will qualify. Is that right?
3) Port in a number that I can't port in immediately (requires a family member to get info that I don't yet have).

Questions:

1) Can I add the line at Costco now and then call T-Mobile later today to get the Pixel 4a 5G deal? Will the line I added today count for add-a-line-and-trade if I order the phone separately through T-Mobile later, or do I have to order/buy the Pixel from Costco today?

2) I have an existing number (paid line) that I don't use. Can I port in a number to that existing line to get the $100 port-in deal? That would be ideal for me so I don't have to worry about messing with the Costco rebate and T-Mobile rebates cancelling each other out.

If anyone can confirm that I'm understanding things correctly or set me on the right path, I'd be very appreciative.

I added a line at Costco. It showed up under my account as "2020 Line on Us 3 (Additional Lines)"
Now will you just do the $200 or try to put in and do the $100 also?

I chatted via Twitter DM with a T-Mobile Rep. This was their reasoning: " I see that you currently are on our All In Promo plan which is awesome! This plan offers you an amazing bundle of services for a super low and affordable cost so I'm stoked you were able to pick this up! Because this plan is already so heavily discounted and had offers of it's own - it is not eligible for our current free line offer."

I just got a new iPhone 12 Pro Max last week, so definitely wasn't interested in adding a line by adding a new device.
It appears your plan is not part of the list posted in the OP.

Good question. The T-mobile rebate redemption form that the Costco Rep printed, here's what it says under Offer requirements - Eligibility:
"In warehouse only. This offer cannot be combined with other promotions. Device must be active for at least 3 billing cycles."
I've read both sides - so not sure what to do. If some of these phones are dual SIM phones - then it would be easy to keep it 'active'.

Let me know if you do go to Costco - would be interested in knowing.

Will post my findings - waiting on a new 'port-out' number to be sent to me.

I am confused with what all I read .. sorry I am noob. Can some one explain me how this works ?

I add line in Costco - do I need to give them Byod imei # to Costco ? Don't they give me a phone # immediately ? How can I port in another phone # via tforce into the same line when costco already gave me a phone #?

Use the app to schedule a call and you will get a US rep. Try to avoid the outsource reps for this if possible.

I missed this deal. Is there a new offer for T-mobile trade-ins going on at this time? Please help.
Free Line promo just started today and is active.
Most trade-ins won't stack with the free line. The list of exclusions is in the original post.

There is a separate trade-in for black friday for Iphone mini.

Yes, mine is the Simple Choice Unlimited.

Good luck to you. I confirmed everything through chat and then by phone. If the rep couldn't find anything for me, I was going to give him this code SCFUTTBD. I think that is the code that shows eligibility.
Thanks! Just added as well and apparently I qualify. Had them memo my account to be safe. Hopefully all goes well

Great thank you. Yeah it all depends on the rep which is also my experience.

Talked w/ Tmo this morning, no free line on my Amplified plan (MGAMP2), was planning on doing this w/ the Costco add a line.
Strange because I have the same code and spoke to Rep last night and they confirm that I do.
