What do I say at Costco to get the free line and make sure it's free? Is there a promo code for this?
No promo code needed. I went this morning and just came back. The guy just called T-mobile and initiated everything. Just tell them you want to add a free line to your plan and the promo starts today.

That figures. Just in case anyone is wondering, here's a list of carriers that DON'T qualify for the $100 port-in promo:
  • Boos Mobile
  • Consumer Cellular
  • Google Fi
  • DISH
  • i-Wireless
  • Kajeet & Kajeet IOT
  • LycaMobile Plus
  • Plintron
  • Republic Wireless
  • Simple Mobile (TracFone)
  • PWG
  • Tracfone
  • Walmart Family Mobile
  • Ultra
Also, Google voice shouldn't work with the port in either. I tried it last time with the $250 port-in after receiving explicit confirmation from a rep, which he recorded under my account; however, the rebate got denied. Luckily, T-mobile was able to honor the rebate due to rep misinformation. But this took some arm-wrestling, on my part, to finally get approved...

My recommendation: do not use GV unless there are others who can vouch for it in past promotions.

Help:
So I want to bring my girlfriend from her dads plan (Grandfather) to my plan (Magenta).

1.
If I can add this free line to my account, can I simply get T-Mobile to transfer my girlfriends existing number from her dads plan to my plan/new free line with zero cost/fees?

2.
Can what I am trying to do above get me the $100 port-in credit as well?

I called and added free line within 15 mins and already reflecting in my online account. This is my 5th free line in 2 years. 3mohine lines and 2 table free lines so far. In total 11 phone and 4 tablet lines on my one plus promo old legacy plan.
What is the SOC for your plan? This is the T-Mobile ONE plan with the ONE Plus promo add-on for each line correct? It's what I have, SOC FRLTUL4LP

No go for me. I have a simple choice plan. I have 4 paid lines and one free line from previous deal. They said I need to upgrade my plan before I can do that. I said no thank you!
Just called into Tmobile. I am on grandfathered simple choice and got the free line. Also ported from GV and will submit the rebate for $100.

Currently have 4 paid lines, 2 free lines, 2 free 6GB/mo tablet data lines and 2 free 200MB/mo tablet data lines.

Bought number to port in last night from Ebay. Still didn't get the details. Any ideas how to get it faster?

If port in is not completed at Costco , will it cause issue with $200 rebate ? As phone number on Costco paperwork will be different and no longer on the account when rebate is processed later.

Spent 1.45 hours at Costco and ported the cricket number instantly to the new free line. Free SIM card and all. Submitting $200 today and $100 tomorrow. The last free device + free line took too much work not gonna do it this time. $300 return of my time is good enough.

Thanks for the list. Do you think Tello will qualify for the $100 port-in promo?

Finally! Someone who has tried this! I will follow what you did. Just say I need to add a line and come home and Port the number over. Do you need to bring the BYOD with you to Costco? Any Sim charges? I also have an extra sim that is brad new.
No Port required for Costco.
Just add a line and BYOD.
My local Costco requires the BYOD be present.
No Sim charges. Sim is included, no need to bring your own.

Was done in about 10 minutes. The guy working there was a pro at this as I have dealt with him few times.
