The last "free line" wasn't free, and made me lose my grandfathered plan, even though I was promised multiple times it was fine. Proceed with caution.

As I add a line online it shows my monthly bill will increase by $20. Is this just the initial info but will be reduced once I sign up?

You need to check if your plan is eligible.

Find your SOC code:

https://www.reddit.com/r/tmobile/...soc_codes/

and then check if it's in this list:

This is huge, again...I think I can get one more. I have 4 paid and 3 free lines right now on my one plus promo plan. I thought I remember reading, this plan can have up to 8 lines total. Anyone know for sure?
That's true but you can also talk to TForce on Twitter and get switched to the 9-12 plan (I've seen some success stories about that).

Thanks. I see a line in developer tools: under ratePlans: that says: "code: MAGENTA2"

So it looks like i'm eligible. Don't know what to do next to get the free line.

I couldn't do it online. Showed $20/ month.

As others suggested, i did a chat through the app and they were able to do it.

Call 611 or chat with a rep and just ask if your account is eligible for the free line promo.

How to get the free line and Costco $200 promo? Just go to Costco T-Mobile kiosk and ask them to add a line and then submit the rebate? How can I make sure that the T-Mobile rep will add the right code so that my line will be free?
There is nothing to "code". Just have them add a line. If your plan qualifies, it'll automatically be picked up as free in T-Mobile's system.

It won't show as "free" ... the $20/mo is normal. Have faith and take the leap. It'll end up being free and you'll get confirmation once a number is assigned to your SIM (when it ships).

Yes, that's just the normal system that doesn't know about the promo. It'll be free automatically if your plan qualifies. (I did this for the last free line promo.)
