regardless of these issues, it is interesting to note this could almost be an near equivalent competitive deal to the HP OMEN $949 1660ti deal running at Bestbuy. But at Costco you get a better warranty.
So this deal may be good if possible cooling issues can be overcome & save you another $50.
(But IMO, I'd go with the HP Omen for better build quality, unless the costco warranty is more important...).

Do you have the Best Buy or Costco version? Or another version?
The Best Buy version has the 60Hz screen and gimped battery. Costco has the better 144Hz screen but still has the gimped battery (the extra hard drive fills that spot). Amazon and Newegg have the 144Hz screen and the 90Wh battery. There are still 2x M.2 ssd spots, but they extend the battery into the 2.5" drive slot. Wirecutter really likes this version (and says temperatures are fine gaming) but there are still complaints about the blocked ports on other reviews.

I have the bestbuy version. I actually wanted the extra 2.5" slot so i could maximize on storage. I didn't care about battery life because its always plugged in as a "desktop replacement"
The Best Buy version has the bad 60Hz screen. I mostly play in a recliner and wish Costco had the better battery too.

That went on sale for 800 3 times almost got it but so many bad comments about the screen turned me away

I personally am waffling between this and the MSI GE75 with the 2070 that Costco will have on Friday. If this had the better battery I'd be buying it, but an extra $100 to upgrade the battery makes the MSI a better buy I think.
Isn't the MSI GE75 $300 more expensive?
