Experience greater power, range, and speed. With an internal and external lithium ion battery, ES4-800 has a top speed of nearly 15.5 mph and a range of up to 28 miles. The bar for high-performance e-scooters has been raised.

He is 4'8" and about 95lbs...I worry the Razor will be too small....and the segway kids versions are more expensive then this
That's what SDers always worry about price and not features or actual value. There are plenty of Razor scooters that fit his height. Your kid will end up getting injured or killed using this scooter because it is made for adults. It is powerful and fast, if a scooter goes past 13mph it is too fast for kids under 12 who doesn't know how to stop or balance.

It's up to you, but I wouldn't give my son any scooter that goes past 13mph. It is too fast for their safety.

I have an ES4. This is ridiculously cheap. I bought an extra one for parts.
Thats exactly why I bought it, the parts are good for my ES4. People here don't realize that without folding, the scooter loses 1/2 of its value because you can't take it anywhere. The whole point of escooter is that it's more portable and convenient than bikes because you can take it anywhere with you and store it in the trunk easily. If it can't fold it can't fit easily in the trunk and you have to lock it up where ever you go. So if people don't realize this, they will end up returning it.

How hard to disassemble this? I'm planning to only put this on my car when I do a long travel ...Can I just unscrew it?

I have an unfoldable ES4. You can check the installation video here:

I would assume the Bird one is similar. Not that many screws, but I remember two were behind the reflective stickers.

I have an SUV. If I unfold one of the back chairs, it would fit just fine.

If you were to go to a park, that's fine. Maybe 7-8 mins to assemble it back but it's nothing like the ES4 just 3 secs it folds up and grab. It's not suitable for a city scooter without the folding option because you can't just grab the scooter and the bar together. You need the bar as a holder. The ES4 is not that expensive right now. Anyone that owns a ES4 will say when it's on sale you can find it under $400 and it is a great all around commuter scooter. I go in and out of subways and public places just towing it with my hand. You can't do that with this Bird scooter.

It's not a bad scooter at all but know what you are getting into.

Thank You, Ya not bad at all ... I'm only planning to use mine around the home while tryign to catch with my kids while they are on their bike but some long drive trips this could be useful too. So dissemble it looks easy maybe just cut that reflective sticker. So it doesn't cover that screw hole ....

If you want to use all the features of the bluetooth app or hack it to go faster you can flash a new firmware. To do it you need a device called "ST link" ($4-8 on ebay), some special screwdriver bits and a soldering iron.
