This is my first post ever, don't know how to add photo yet
this has bee $349 at HD all month long (without the stand)

The 779 is the same saw for $200 less than the 780, plus you get the mobile stand. For $60-80 you can add the light (which most people don't even use) to make it the same exact saw. This is a good deal.

I picked up my stand today and the receipt indeed says $0.00. But why couldn't you just take it to returns, say you paid cash and don't have receipt, get store credit, and then even come back later and apply the store credit to the $399 receipt for the saw?

I think the stand will still ring up as a free item when they scan it.

I placed an online order on Lowe's for delivery @ 400. I used gift cards. Will they let me price match to HD and refund 50$ if I call CS. Thanks
I tried to get in store price match after the online purchase during pick up. Customer service said ok (with some reluctance/question) but they took $50 off in a way split between the saw and the free stand. The price match associated with the free stand just disappeared (reverse BOGO) so the net price match was about $360. Ended up just starting from square one and getting the price match and applying coupons etc checking out through the pro desk cashier. Luckily no significant lines but this was in the verge of becoming a very lukewarm to cold deal having to spend the time to unwind transactions that didn't materialize as expected. Especially with huge items like these takes a lot of physical effort and not can't just leave it in the trunk and come back when the lines are short.

If you have Lowe's for pros. You can price match Home Depot to $349, than get 10% off that as the best price guarantee is if competitor's price is lower you get an additional 10%. I just bought it on Wednesday. $314 total before tax.
I can't seem to find that additional 10% and the store cashier didn't seem to know. Would you help to point out that policy for those of us with Lowe's for Pros. Thanks in advance

For a home DIYer, with few projects in the pipeline (building a deck, framing for some dry wall, baseboards, molding, trims, etc.) would you go with this 12" dual bevel sliding with stand for $399 or the much lower price 10" single bevel compound with stand for $279?

For those stating that they received a Home Depot price match can you elaborate more on the deal? HD has the same deal $399 with stand. The saw on its own is $349.99 on sale. So how is Lowe's matching the price if it's the same?

You have to get a CS rep that doesn't see the HD bundle. I had to try twice in store. The first noticed what you noticed, HD has the exact same bundle for $399, same as Lowe's.

Is the Home Depot combo kit new? I haven't seen it before. For price matching Lowe's to HD, the good thing is that HD leaves up variations of the tool, in this case, both with and without the stand.

I think you'll have better luck going through the pro area cashier. Customer service is too inclined to call HD or search on their own. You don't want Lowe's searching HD for DWS779 because they'll see that new, similar combo kit. Instead, go to the cashier and show your phone (HD page with saw-only) and only price match the saw as the very first item you have rung up. The cashiers may not know the stand is free. Tell them to wait til they get the price match approval before scanning the stand since you don't want the stand otherwise. Once they price match the saw and then ring up the stand, the stand will initially scan as $199 but be patient it will zero out at the end. Price matching an online purchase during pick up is trickier because Lowe's customer service will see the stand is free and either apply the price difference to the set (part of the $50 off price match might disappear in the BOGO) or they may say it isn't an apples to apples comparison. Definitely if they see HD has the same kit for $399 you will be out of luck.

Also, if you have any coupons, the regular pro cashier seems to generally be more inclined to scan them. The regular non-Pro Desk cashiers may or may not if you get one that is less experienced. Pro Desk cashiers are almost always old timers because they need to be quick to ring up the quantity that comes through, many without UPCs. They also seem to be friendlier too.

Yep, just as I decided lastnight that I would buy it this morning, lol. Oh well. Planned on selling the stand. Already bought the Ryobi stand for $79 lastnight. I should've just bought it lastnight but wanted to make sure Home Depot still had it for $349 so I could price match. Oh well, I think we'll see a deal on the DWS780 this month. Last year that was $349.

If you want to get any sort of angle without the full table saw setup, then a miter saw.
