Agreed not a great deal. The benchmarks so far indicate that 16GB may be unnecessary with the efficiency of the new chip.

Ordered on the 26th and still no update from backordered either. But I'm sure it's one of those Murphy's Law things where the day you cancel, it would have shipped and arrived the next day...

Ordered on the 27th in NY. Still waiting for it ship. I have a feeling they're selling these in their B&M location at full retail price while holding these orders on back-order until the holidays blow over.

"Thank you for your inquiry on the status of your backorder.

Unfortunately, the manufacturer is not providing us with an ETA of when to expect this item."

Mine too. Ordered on the 28th. Dark Gray, not sure if it's less common therefore longer wait, but still say Backordered. Good thing I'm not in a super hurry.

Update on mine: I had ordered November 26th, it finally arrived this week - and when I opened it, I discovered the top cover had a bunch of scratches on it.

Needless to say, I'm pretty disappointed and will be returning it for a refund. Now I'm wondering...did they ship me a returned/refurb unit, and was that the cause for the month-long delay? Last time I order from Adorama...

1/20/21 -- Given an ETA of 2/18/21; also given warning that it'll probably take longer than that

Meanwhile, seeing these occasionally available at local Apple stores. Super frustrating.

I ordered on 11/26 and just received my MacBook Air today. I called Adorama last week about the status and they gave me the same line about no status from the Vendor, but they charged my credit card the next day. I'm not sure if the phone call helped but just wanted to let everyone know I did get mine after 2 months.
