My experience with backlit keyboards is they wash out on white or silver laptops due to the screen reflecting off of the keys. Opt for the Fog Blue to minimize.

Add TOUCH, 16GB RAM and 512GB SSD -- The configuration comes to 609, Apply coupon SMBHOL10 to bring down the total to $548.

Coupon SMBHOL10 works for $599 or more.

Paypal Chase offer gives 5% cashback too !!

Wow $400 for Ryzen 7 4700U + FHD screen + WiFi 6 (just $10 for the WiFi upgrade, so why not futureproof it), it's gotta be one of the cheapest, if not the cheapest ever for that combo.

A pretty futureproof buy, and I think the RAM and SSD are replaceable so if you need to do it now, or in the future, it's a perfect base to start with.

I think those that already have it in cart are the ones having success, not the ones trying to add it.

I mean at that point you are close enough to use the 10% off coupon. 10STACKBFCM21

Upgrade the Ram or the SSD to get it to where both total over $999 and then take 10% off. You are probably missing out on some free upgrades by not doing it this way.
Perhaps I am missing something here. SMBHOL is also a 10% coupon, but applied over 599. The upgrades are all over priced, they do seem to reduce the cost with the coupon, but also reduce the value. The best way out is if I can buy 2 units, each getting the 10% discount....And like others I can not edit my config anymore, I am stuck with the config I have in the cart. Wonder if I should get them anyhow and then talk to friends to resell to them,

website still won't let me add to cart. Their site must be completely swamped and hammered every nanosec like a DOS attack by everyone like us

These CPUs are supposed to benefit from running memory with 2 matching sticks. Not sure if it's called dual channel. Anyone know if HP nootered this chip? A lot of these cheap ryzen systems don't run in that mode.

The website says 2x 8gb, so that implies dual channel.

no the link clearly says- ram not user upgradeable.
Look at the Maint. and service guide.. These laptops probably have no screws. however, they can be opened up with plastic pry tools to service the laptop.

I need a laptop for our small business for invoicing and general use. I think this is a good deal but should I also get the Microsoft office and McAfee?

It means they are deep seated, but replaceable. http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c06248787

I'd maybe be all over this if the screen was smaller. All of the good deals seem to be on 15.6" laptops.
