My experience with backlit keyboards is they wash out on white or silver laptops due to the screen reflecting off of the keys. Opt for the Fog Blue to minimize.

Add TOUCH, 16GB RAM and 512GB SSD -- The configuration comes to 609, Apply coupon SMBHOL10 to bring down the total to $548.

Coupon SMBHOL10 works for $599 or more.

Paypal Chase offer gives 5% cashback too !!

Wow $400 for Ryzen 7 4700U + FHD screen + WiFi 6 (just $10 for the WiFi upgrade, so why not futureproof it), it's gotta be one of the cheapest, if not the cheapest ever for that combo.

A pretty futureproof buy, and I think the RAM and SSD are replaceable so if you need to do it now, or in the future, it's a perfect base to start with.

I think you are right. HP was completely unprepared for the HUGE crush of online order and hammering by people. Probably about as bad as any DOS attack...lol...... WEAK, HP, WEAK!!! They should have been mucch prepared.

Confirmed cannot add any customizable laptops at all to the cart. You can only add noncustomizable items like monitors, mouse, backpacks

Pretty sure it's upgradeable. The maintainance manual says so. It's the same chassic type as the WM deal one.
If they were going to make a cost cutting move by soldering memory for a high volume item you would think they would do it on both walmart version and this. It takes money to design a custom version. Walmart one, which they negotiate heavily, makes me optimistic this is also upgradable.
This may be academic since many wont be able to check out with this at this rate.

Added 2 to cart an hour ago and was just now able to place order. So if you already had it your cart, should go through now

This deal:

HP Pavilion Laptop - 15z-eh000

Am I missing something? I am not trying to say you are wrong... just want to figure this out.

RAM looks to be upgradeable based upon the service manual. But if you are not comfortable getting a screw driver and taking the whole bottom off of your laptop (not just an access port), disconnecting the battery, replacing the memory modules, hoping that HP hasn't somehow whitelisted the memory modules they use in the BIOS to ensure they are the only ones which work, and then reconnecting the battery, screwing it all back together, hitting the power button, and hoping that it works - just pay them to upgrade the memory. If you don't fix computers for a living or are not at least a serious hobbyist, and/or you are terrified by the prospect of HP screwing with you over allegedly voiding the warranty because of some seal you probably broke and/or blaming whatever problem the system has on the two new modules you installed, you probably don't want to screw with it.

Yes, they are basically selling you the two 8GB modules at retail, and depriving you of the opportunity to sell the two 4GB modules, but sometimes, life is too short to mess with certain things. Then again, if you are a tech anyway, or really know your way around computers with a screwdriver, this may be a good way to save $50 for 25 minutes work.

Of course, this all assumes you can actually buy one, which thanks to HP's website, you can't. So it may all be a moot point.

I tried adding other laptops to the cart and it won't let me. Seems like their website is broken.

Cancelled yesterday's order for the same laptop with 16GB and 512 GB for $540+tax and ordered 2 for $720+tax ($360/each) using coupon SMBHOL10. Not sure what to do with the second one, probably going to use as a back up.
How did you cancel?

I tried asking HP support and they said the ram is soldered.
You have to ask yourself this question, this product has the option to be configured with 2 -4 gb modules OR 12 gb = -4gb + 8 gb module OR 16 gb + 8gb + 8 gb I don't believe HP is soldering ram to the board. most likely board has 2 RAM slots

They could have 2 versions, one with 4gb soldered or one with 8gb soldered or not.

Like others, I just purchased the Inspiron 5000 deal last night. That has 2 m.2 slots, albeit one is a short 2230 slot, and a 53 Wh battery instead of the 41 Wh in the HP. I think prefer the Dell keyboard layout, too, because it has pg up and pg down keys whereas it appears the HP overlays those functions on other keys (but I have a hard time finding a good picture of the HP keyboard). The HP laptop is a good price, but I think I'll stick with the Dell.

Edit: forgot to add, HP has a vent on the bottom, Dell has vent on the back, blowing toward the screen.
Where did you notice the vent was at the bottom for air being thrown out by cooler? On the Walmart edition, the vent is below the screen -

That's what I ended up thinking as well so bought two. Have an hour to cancel if it really is soldered.

I just used the code like 5 minutes ago

I would just be happy with what you bought. The deal in this thread is good but its still not as good as the "price mistake" HP deal from the other day. Now that blows out every black friday deal this year. Intel i7 11th gen for $250. LOL
can you share the link to Asus deal ?

Ok checkout out and settled for the $409.99 (fog blue) with the CB from elsewhere and credit card CB.

Didn't want to push it more than that considering the lower brightness screen and the plastic build. Think under $400 after tax and cashback keeps this at the sweet spot.

Hopefully the upgrade process isn't too bad. I'm not stressing the 8 GB as I'm on the Costco one with 4 GB and it has been a champ for the last year with multitasking and chrome tabs.
