If HP resolves my issue on another laptop and offers to send a new one, I'm going to deny it and request a refund. I'm sorry but I wouldn't want a computer that's been in the cold (not saying this is what is happening with yours). If you aren't from a cold environment, you might not understand lol.
Imagine it's 9:30 PM in California and 12:30AM tomorrow in Memphis.
FedEx puts a package on a very fast plane in their main Memphis hub tomorrow, and it arrives in LA at 11:30 today. FedEx tracking shows it in Memphis on a later date than in LA.
Shanghai and Anchorage are just a lot further apart in time zones than Memphis and Los Angeles.
I don't know the month's temperature history in ANC, but strongly doubt a big warehouse could ever have gotten below freezing, let alone cold enough to hurt our computers.
I'm just guessing, but I think they were sitting in customs detention when FedEx should have been moving them, and now that it's Christmas week, HP has gotten customs straightened out, but there's no room on the airplane.
