Does anyone know if there is an issue of buying a license today but not using or activating it for a few months... won't be building new for a bit (... If only the Ryzen 5 5600 would be available in a "few" months).
Shouldn't be a problem, it won't expire. The only thing that might expire is the link to the installation media, but you can always get the latest version from Microsoft. If you buy it early, go ahead and download the install from the link they send you. I've bought 2 of these licenses and they come from Cleverbridge, unlike the licenses you get from the "grey market" dealers.

Thanks @BobRetro! That is what I hoped/figured but there's no harm in asking right.
I have used the Media Creation Tool in the past to prep a USB stick which I'll probably go ahead and do again so I'm at least on the 20H2 release when all is said and done. I was hesitant since I haven't purchased an OS license from PCWorld/Cleverbridge so would really hate in a few months to find the key doesn't work.
Lol. You know simply searching for the Win7 oem label and looking at the photos of the codes works free?
By this logic, if I already have a retail Win7 license that has been used to upgrade one PC to Win 10 Pro (and is currently in use), I could use the same code to upgrade a new PC to Win 10 Pro? This seems unlikely though.

Thanks! Had been holding off since the last time they did this because I wasn't sure how legit it was. But if there was really some gray market issue, I'm sure MS would have come after them by now. Got 2 pro licenses and activated with no issue (previously had been watermarked versions).

I'd advise spending the extra $10 for the pro version. I love the ability to remote-desktop into a machine. You also have the ability to use bitlocker to protect sensitive documents, which I highly advise. I personally don't use bitlocker, but VeraCrypt instead. If it were more than $10 difference I'd say weigh the pros and cons, but for $10 it's well worth it.
I read that using Veracrypt creates problems with doing Windows Updates, so that you'd need to decrypt, update, and then reencrypt. That was one reason why I decided to just go the Bitlocker route. Have you had a different experience?
Think about it. MS sells a pro license in their store for how much? Microcenter, Newegg, Amazon, they just like to charge twice as much as your fav reseller? Why is that?

I hopped on this deal hoping to get a valid license. It seems like a key I got can't be even activated, while I followed all instructions came with the key (i.e. clean-install, upgrade to Pro, up-to-date Windows update etc.). Trying to get a refund. I don't think these are legit.

I jumped on this deal too and ordered with Media (hard copy) and never received them. Both Cleverbridge who took my payment says that the seller CreativeMark is responsible for sending the media and gave me a support email address to contact. They both have been giving me the run around for almost 2-3 weeks. It has been a month and a half since I ordered and no hard copies in my mailbox. A refund was also offered for the media portion but I haven't seen that posted back in my account.
