My recommendation to T-Mobile... Cyber Monday Loyalty Discount:

1-year with T-Mobile $20-off.
5-years... $100-off.
10-years... $200-off
15-years... $300-off.

Simple...

if you add a line & get this deal .. can you cancel any other line on the account after a month without impacting this deal?

I called TMobile, was told this is a online cyber Monday deal. Available online only... You need to open new line 20 a month for 24 months. I expect them to give XR away free no exceptions, later in December though..
I missed this part, have not understood this part where you said in later in december though?

This is a good deal for XR, but from past experiences I expect TMobile to have another huge iPhone deal around Christmas.

Sixdeal that is my question. I've had a rep tell me you are essentially locking into that new minimum number of lines for the 24 months, not just the new line.

Even reddit post confirmed this does not stack with Free line. Don't ever trust T-Mobile rep through their website. I've had T-mobile rep through website/app provide incorrect information which caused so much headache for me in the past.
There is also wrong info from reddit. In last $250 BYOD deal, several confirmation from reddit said it can not stack with $100 Costco BYOD offer. But many people got both deals successfully.
I will only trust the official terms when it's out.

You better double check that because TMobile sometimes request that you make no changes to your account for at least 3 to 6 to 12 months. Any changes would disqualify the promotion you signed up for. Especially with these free lines, am agent will tell you that you can't cancel or change any of your lines for 12 months.
Call 2 to 3 times and speak to a supervisor to make sure they won't disqualify you. I would strongly suggest even telling them that you are releasing one of the lines to a separate account to make sure that won't disqualify you. It's better to know now than later
Yup. Checked a bunch of times and have confirmation that releasing a line to a new account does not affect any line promotions. We'll see after a month when he ports out his line to something else if it is fully good to go but as far as i can tell, that line and account is completely separate from my current account.

You get $200 off with 5 years now on certain phones.

EDIT: My bad as it's expired.

This loyalty discount expired on November 12. However, I was able to get the rep to get a supervisor to override the expiration as a one time exception because I have been a customer for over 15 years. So I got an additional $200 as a one time bill credit and stacked with the trade in offer. (iPhone X for $415). Total of $615 off. YMMV of course

Yeah I updated that it expired. Im glad you were able to get it but T-Mobile needs to start giving loyal customers deals like this all the time. They should have $200 off any phone once per year per line on the account that's been in service 5 years or longer or something like that.

If any of the large carriers gave their loyal customers deals like they do new customers, most people would go with that carrier. Sadly, all carriers don't view it that way, but you're exactly right.

How refreshing would it be to see commercials rewarding loyal customers instead of just trying to lure new customers?

I was thinking the same too. Add a new line with XR and keep it for a month and then cancel one of the old line. Does anyone know if this will work?

For XR phone they might be giving out credits for 24 months, and wouldn't be free, so you are stuck with them for 24 months

And yet it makes no sense the rep would tell to hold off on adding a free line when you can add a line and still be eligible for qualifying phone promotion within 14 days of adding a line. What does that tell us? lol
