Bought this and returned it. Where the holder joins with the arm it wouldn't sit flush and wouldn't screw on tight. Any adjustment of the holder would cause the holder part to come free from the arm. I could have had a lemon. I ended up buying a gooseneck tablet holder for around $24 in amazon.

Exact same thing happened to me. The part that locks the device in place is made of cheap, soft plastic and lasted only a couple days before it stripped out. I'm returning mine.

yes indeed this is a good holder but I returned one and ALMOST returned the replacement for this specific reason: ill-fitting clamp->arm adapter.
This is the best holder I have found for the price, but it does require some fidgeting and expect to exchange it. That being said it is the only one I have found for around this price that will reliably hold a 8"+ table in place.

I bought one recently. I have it connected to my bed's headboard. The plastic thing that locks into place to hold the tablet is a little disconcerting, so my plan is to not adjust it often. To the point where I don't think I should adjust it for when I fold clothes on my bed because the constant movement, I'm afraid, would mess this thing up. If you plan to keep it in one place and not adjust constantly, this works well right now for me. It feels sturdy and rigid when set up tightly. Don't expect it to easily adjust by just swinging it around and expecting it to stay in place in its new location. You'll have to loosen some knobs before that'll happen then have to retighten them. I wanted it for a theater table I have but now I'm thinking I'll keep it for one very specific purpose, my bed, and find an alternative for my theater so it can easily be moved around the room for different users. The ones that go into theater recliners tend to be too pricey for my taste. This experiment proved to be not up to the task I wanted it for, but I like it for the purpose I found. I think I might get a simple tabletop tablet stand and just always set it down on my recliner's swivel tables or table in back. I wish I could find a nice one that I could place on my table in the back row, bend the arm forward towards the screen to access a tablet from the front recliners but also bend backward towards people sitting in the back row. This one posted could do that, technically, but it would be so burdensome so as to not want to bother. Maybe what I'm asking for is too niche and expensive if found.

Tl;dr- this thing is good if you don't plan to adjust it often. Not amazing. But better than expected. I don't know a better alternative around this price.

I have one of these for my iPad mini and it works great! I move it all the time and do not need to retighten the arm. The ball joint behind the device needs to be loosened and retightened to adjust. The arm itself is super secure. It looks much cleaner than the flex-arms.
