With 256GB SSD, the price will come $928, which is still better than the last best price of $941, with 128GB SSD. If you are not keen to open the laptop and update the SSD by yourself for whatever reason, may be upgrading the SSD while configuring, is a good idea.
Why even make 128GB SSDs. That's phone storage. If you're not afraid to jump platforms, check out the MBA M1 for $899. That processor almost turns everything into a light gaming unit, with amazing battery life.
I am not speaking for everyone but I suspect people who gravitate towards Thinkpad are using it for business, which is typically a Windows required environment. Also I think someone else had pointed out a lot of apps are not even optimized for M1 yet?
I also picked up the USB-C Gen2 dock for $130 from MS that was posted by someone else. Supposedly you could just use any USB-C hub (ie Anker has a $50 one 20% off on Amazon), but the former has more ports.
