"Keep in mind, despite having an octa-core CPU, the lack of Cortex A-73 cores makes this a mainstream SoC at best, which fits the price point well. Other devices in the same class like the Amazon Fire HD 10 (2019) have more raw CPU power due to another component choice. In practice you won't see the same difference as clearly as in synthetic benchmarks and once you compare their behavior in daily use, the Lenovo should feel better than the Fire because 2 vs 4 GB memory makes a world of difference."
It was slow to respond, the low percentage of the time it actually did.
Any reason to expect this to be any better?

It's a bit more expensive and has half the RAM (64GB instead of 128GB). From reviews on Amazon, the Alexa dock is total garbage and doesn't work.
Wonder if the added Alexa functionality messes anything up? Only thing I could see with a quick search is that they disabled the Google Assistant because of the Alexa stuff.

(*The 10" Fire Tablet was on sale a few weeks ago for $72)
My personal opinion.... it's worth a $20~$30 price difference.
