Took me a while to find a straight comparison of this tablet to the Fire hd 10.

https://www.reddit.com/r/Lenovo/c..._fhd_plus/
"Keep in mind, despite having an octa-core CPU, the lack of Cortex A-73 cores makes this a mainstream SoC at best, which fits the price point well. Other devices in the same class like the Amazon Fire HD 10 (2019) have more raw CPU power due to another component choice. In practice you won't see the same difference as clearly as in synthetic benchmarks and once you compare their behavior in daily use, the Lenovo should feel better than the Fire because 2 vs 4 GB memory makes a world of difference."

I bought the smart tab M8 with dock, expecting it to be a more flexible alternative to the Google nest hub.

It was slow to respond, the low percentage of the time it actually did.
Any reason to expect this to be any better?

My Samsung Galaxy tab S2 is starting to die. It resets itself at least twice a day. This is $125 for a what looks like a halfway decent tablet. Let me repeat that it's $125 it may not be perfect to some of you but it's $125 for full HD tablet with 4 gigs ram and 128 hard drive. What else are you people wanting for $125?

FWIW, the Alexa version is on sale:

It was a BB BF deal & OOS.

This tablet has a processor, RAM, and chipset that's roughly the same performance-wise as a Google Pixel 2. I have an OG Pixel and a Pixel 3 and feel that both machines are still useful and not obsolete so I snagged one. Definitely thought it was worthwhile at this price, especially with the docking station. Will make a nice control platform for my Spark guitar/bass amp and for occasional browsing or movie watching.

Good find.

It's a bit more expensive and has half the RAM (64GB instead of 128GB). From reviews on Amazon, the Alexa dock is total garbage and doesn't work.

Wonder if the added Alexa functionality messes anything up? Only thing I could see with a quick search is that they disabled the Google Assistant because of the Alexa stuff.

I just bought this, for me Dock is a plus and can be placed on side table and double protection against charging port ( in case if USB-C fails) failures, I hope there will be Android open project support in near future if not now. 4GB/ 128GB is good enough unto Android 10 version. The problem I always have with Samsung ( Great hardware though) Tabs is bloatware.
I agreed. Samsung support is great and they make great hardware, but their bloatware is horrendous. Hard to root and remove as well. Lenovo's bloatware is kinda on par though, in my opinion. I have the Lenovo M8, Fire 10, and Samsung Tab E (Verizon). The old Tab E still run smooth (I've rooted it long ago). The M8 suck, but useful for the wife to leave on kitchen counter for recipe and videos. The big Fire 10 is just for playing around. There will be apps that won't work on it.

Debating between this and Fire HD 10. Primarily looking to play H.265/HEVC 10bit mkv video files, surf, and mess around in Robinhood. Is this worth the extra cost? Don't know anything about the various processors but this has double the RAM.
This tablet is better maybe not $53 better than the Fire Tablet.
(*The 10" Fire Tablet was on sale a few weeks ago for $72)
My personal opinion.... it's worth a $20~$30 price difference.

Yeah. The review(s) held me back & it went out of OOS @ BB, before I could pull the trigger.

There are a couple of +ves:
- The speaker dock has good reviews but itself.
- The alexa functionality, including the show, has been hit/miss. Folks have disabled it.
-They loaded Google Assistant & it works for them

For me the 64GB was plenty. And it was cheaper by about $10/- compared to BB. So, a win for me.

YMMV.
