Which means absolutely nothing at all.
The specs are a little higher on the regular fuel impact vs surge impact is what is being said I believe. Pretty much the only thing better with the surge is the quietness.
M12 fuel surge is the first 12v hydrolic impact driver.

Same torque, but M18 has higher impact rate so M18 drives screw a little faster. (Forgot exact specs)

Killer deal on this SURGE model. Ordering for myself.

Note, this won't have the same power as the FUEL impact driver, but it's a solid tool and is quieter than the FUEL or the non-FUEL regular impact model. Great for using indoors.

How much is the M18? For the same price, I'd go with the 18. They aren't THAT much different in size.

The surge driver is different than the fuel driver. Fuel driver has more torque but is louder.

Since I'm new to the milwaukee ecosystem, I was just debating too. Although at $200, I think I'll stay with the M18 since it comes with an extra battery.

Unless there's a reason to reconsider?

This is a fantastic tool - buy it. So quiet for an Impact driver.

I got the M18 tool only last month with one of the slickdeals for about $90 after tax.
