Canon has this problem of items going in and out of stock. When I first looked at the EOS RP with 24-240mm kit was out of stock but was in stock around 2am EST on 12/01/2020 so I posted this. Canon' online store and checkout mechanism is below average and can be challenging to check out. So you may have to try it a few times before the order goes through.
I paid 1600 for this when I got it and would do it again.
The RP is not perfect but its damn impressive if you know what you want out of it. Its the perfect camera for amateur photographers who want a camera that does more than basic dslrs would.
The body is solid enough to take advantage of canons L glass RF lenses without running into sensor problems (my rebel t6 would have been a waste with good glass, for example)
The lens is the prefect travel lens, its great for anything the day may bring and provides way better than expected results from a super zoom, even wide open.
If you can get it in stock, buy it.
Does anyone know if this would be good for indoor sports photography?
Doubt it. Unlikely with this lens. Wide open the minimum aperture is f/4, if you zoom in (as I expect you will want to for indoor sports), it very quickly goes to 6.3. Maybe with a faster lens, you would have better shot of success. In Servo AF, burst speed is 4 fps. Which may be okay depending on the lens.
I just got the kit last week and took it to shoot some waterfalls. Maybe someone who has used the kit to shoot some indoor photography can chime in with real world experience. OTOH, there really hasn't been much of indoor sporting events this year.

Snagged one. Waited patiently for a hour to get this kit instead of jumping onto RP. is it possible to get "Upgrade Program" or Canon Loyalty program discount with Refurbs.
