This is a solid deal. Don't be frightened by all the comments on every desktop deal from people that need this component or that component upgraded because they are planning to map the human genome on a $500 desktop. Spoiler alert - They won't.
700W? Seriously, it is not like you are going to install a 750+ dollar graphics board in a machine like this imo. You can get away with 450-500 W with a low power 1660 TI. Less if you drop down to a 1050 Ti. If you want to run high end gaming at max res, then one should not be buying something like this imo and should look to someone like Dell, MSI or IBuyPower for pre-builts for gaming.

My 2 cents.
I was able to pick this up at my local Staples store

here are some pictures

Power: 180w

That's the reason I asked... I saw the identical CPU cooler on the ACER i5 machines that I bought. Cooler Master fan with this model on the fan: FA09025H12LPB

That fan is notorious for becoming louder and louder over time. I've even had one that sounded like tiny machine gun when under 99% to 100% load... (although that can easily be fixed by putting in a 3rd party CPU cooler) Smilie

I put this under load for hour and the fan stays the same. The heat sink is massive and the cooling vents on the computer are good.

So staples wanted to sell me 2 year extended warranty but my costco visa card says this...seems better than my freedom unlimited from chase. So 3 years total warranty

We will extend the manufacturer's warranty for
an additional 24 Months. If you purchase an
extended warranty, our coverage begins at the
expiration of that warranty. In the event of a
covered failure we will repair or replace the item
or reimburse up to the amount charged on your
Citi card and/or your Costco credit card reward
certificate (excluding shipping and handling)
or $10,000, whichever is less. Total coverage up to
a maximum of 7 years from the purchase date.

Ok..I opened it up and ....oh well...weird power cables going all over the place. Well, it is gold unit and you could put in a video card that does not require any power attachments since there are no power connectors anyway except to add one hard drive 3.5. The reason I bought it for my wife and watches videos.

Video speed as good as GT 640. it does play 4k 60fps..no problem. Its quiet. ...except the dvd drive is noisy.

The cooler fan for the cpu is cooler master. Cannot tell the name of the motherboard.

For the price, it will do the job. Best deal for fast computer for non serious gamer. But UHD 630 will play some good games for sure.

good computer to give to your mama....kids...(forget that..kids want gamer computer) or wife that shops for shoes. That right..good for the lady...for me..I waiting for the Costco deal 1660 with 16 gigs...

paid with costco visa so doubles warranty to 2 years. but when I read it adds 2 years so I am bit confused

If the manufacturer's warranty is 1 year, then purchasing with Costco card makes the warranty a total of 3 years (1+2=3). You also get 2% CB.

If you upgrade to Executive Member, you get an additional 2 years of warranty (making it 5 years total!) and you also get an additional 2% CB for 4% total CB.

how would you guys compare this with the hp slim deal at $400 (comes with a monitor) from office max. Do you think the net +$100 more for this machine is worth it to jump from i3 to i5 ? i dont do video editing or anything resource intense.

I bought it staples...1 percent back. I want to make about the warranty since if that power supply goes after one year, I a bit hosed.

You never add a video card to that slim.

You buy this because you want it for home regular computer and dont have a monitor.

It is also a good deal if you dont have a monitor. Also good idea if your tight on space.

But for 20 bucks less...i5 and 12 gigs...I rather buy a used monitor and have the speed and mem and larger case to add maybe 1050 or 1030 card, Or pickup that hdtv 22inch monitor best buy had for 59 bucks with built in tuner...which I got. nice deal.

In for one, picked up in store; the employees were shocked by the price, which is still tagged on sale at ~$470 there. Probably going to keep this over the $450 Acer Aspire TC-895-UA92 deal. Is $70 more worth the WiFi 6 & 512GB SSD. Neither has a big enough power supply for a video card that requires extra power, probably going to look at one that doesn't require extra power. Any input is appreciated.

I've read through all the comments but I'm still not sure- does anyone know if one could fit a 3.5 HDD into this thing? The drive that comes with it, I'm guessing that's a 2.5 size, so it seems like there'd be room to add a second, 3.5 one, but I'm not entirely sure. Anyone have any thoughts?

30 watts. You might find a single fan GT 1050 that might be low power. One way of telling is looking at the same machine and power supply but come with video cards. You can see if HP has a model with that same power supply but with nvidia or amd video card. Adding internal hard drive will suck up more power so you may want to go with power external or cloud based (hook up external to router)

Here we have ZOTAC GeForce GT 1030 2GB GDDR5 Low Profile Graphics Card that has got single-slot design. The card has got a small single fan and heatsink which is enough to keep its temperature under normal levels. For connectivity, the card comes with DVI and HDMI display connectors. The card has maximum power consumption of 30W only

A 1050 will use max 75 watts. your computer will use 75 watts...so you are under the amount. But no more stuff added. Cutting pretty close.
