This is a solid deal. Don't be frightened by all the comments on every desktop deal from people that need this component or that component upgraded because they are planning to map the human genome on a $500 desktop. Spoiler alert - They won't.
700W? Seriously, it is not like you are going to install a 750+ dollar graphics board in a machine like this imo. You can get away with 450-500 W with a low power 1660 TI. Less if you drop down to a 1050 Ti. If you want to run high end gaming at max res, then one should not be buying something like this imo and should look to someone like Dell, MSI or IBuyPower for pre-builts for gaming.

My 2 cents.
I was able to pick this up at my local Staples store

here are some pictures

storage: hfm256gdjtni-82a0a https://www.skhynix.com/datasheet..._popup.jsp

Power: 180w

Let me know if I can answer any questions

Does anyone know how to change the boot order so the M.2 connector becomes the primary? I moved the SSD from my older desktop to this one and can't figure out how to have the system use the onboard 256GB as the secondary. The BIOS boot manager only provides a single "Windows Boot Manager" option, or the other CD/DVD, USB or network boot order options. It's definitely plugged in correctly because when the system boots to the included Win10 instance I can see and navigate to the SSD I installed as OS (ESmilie. I've found some instructions about disabling secure boot and then going to a legacy boot manager, but I disabled the Secure Boot option, restarted to BIOS, and see no menu option change.

I honestly thought this would be a simple boot order change. Any thoughts or advice? Thanks!

Thanks again to Spider210 for the screenshot, that helped move me along with Staples.

They are now at least acknowledging it is possible to buy it at the price. They said they needed the two coupon codes that were applied to get the price down. Once I provide those they are willing to look then up and apply them.

Does anyone by chance know what the coupon codes were, I didn't see them in the thread.

Thanks!
It was an instant discount/selling price, no code

Are you planning on running a 4K monitor with the new card at all? Either way let us know how it goes.

How are you liking the pc so far? Is it pretty fast with the ssd? I debated on getting one but my 4+ year old Dell is doing just fine (at least that's what I keep telling myself), lol.

I would want to run a 4k monitor on this but at 60hz so I guess a graphics card would be required.

Thanks,

-Guru
Not using it with a 4K monitor, I have it connected through an Onkyo TX-RZ800 to my Sony xbr-65x900e tv. I just installed the Geforce gt-1030 this morning. Everything seems to be running great. It's doing 4k@60hz without any issues at all through HDMI. It also handles HDR now, which is great; Everything was HDCP compliant.
This computer is extremely fast. I was surprised to see that it had even faster load times then my 4 year old Dell 6th gen i5 with a Samsung evo ssd that I had previously installed. Very satisfied with this purchase so far.

So you simply added gt 1030 with no other changes, and the 180W PSU is holding up fine?

Yes, I added the card without making any other changes. Everything seems to be doing fine. Like I mentioned earlier, I was a little hesitant at first, due to the 300w minimum the card suggests, until I saw that this exact card was being used in other builds of this computer. Same motherboard and all. Granted, I do not game, so not sure if that would make a difference. I installed the card for the sole purpose of getting 4k@60hz HDR for use as a htpc, and so far it has been handling everything smoothly.
The way I look at it, HP would not be including these 1030 cards in some of these system builds if there was even a chance of it not being capable of handling it. I imagine it would be quite a lawsuit if an insufficient power supply caused a fire or other damage..

I just wanted to add, when testing this PC using the "hwinfo" monitoring program while watching a 4k movie in HDR at 60hz, I was able to see that the gpu total power averaged only 13.3 watts. For my purposes, I'm confident that the gt-1030 will be absolutely fine with the 180 watt power supply...

Just got it from Staple, and put in a GTX 1650. It works fine.

Is the 1650 still going strong? Any crashes? Thinking about doing this...

Pt tend to vastly overestimate PSU requirements. There's a little more headroom with an 80+ Gold PSU as well.

It appears there is not USB-C ALT Mode support. Can anyone confirm this? I've tried with a clean windows install and had no luck, but wasn't sure if there are drivers I might be missing.

Thanks, that's what I thought. I'm probably going to put in a GT 1030. I checked the systems max power consumption and it is well under the 180W of the PSU [50-65W average & ~70W peak - zooming with a USB webcam, using multiple USB devices, streaming a 4K 360 video, another 4K video, and playing Roblox with the highest graphics setting]. It also only draws ~7-15W while resting.

Yeah, that's the card I put in. I've tested it multiple times, and it never spiked over 80 watts no matter what I had running. I'm not a gamer though, but I don't think it would make much of a difference anyways, going by what I read online for max draw on that card

So does a GT 130 have hdmi 2.0 to achieve 4k@60hz?
