My local Planet Fitness is running a deal for a 1 year regular membership for only $99, no annual fee and $0 startup fee, expires December 31st. This promotion is not for all locations so please check to see if your local location is running this promotion here.
Contact transmission isn't as worrisome as originally thought, but it's still real. Wiping down is still important. Assuming they are wiping well and using something effective to wipe with.
I had a very difficult time trying to cancel my planet fitness membership this year after covid shut everything down, my location became completely unresponsive. I had to contact corporate many times. I was still charged an annual membership fee which I have yet to be able to get refunded. Don't waste time with this crappy business.
I see several at $99/y around me.
However I also see:
To adhere to state guidelines, our club is temporarily closed. Your membership will be frozen and you will not be charged any fees while the club is closed.
Just remember these companies are not in the fitness business they make money by you *NOT* going to the gym and continuing to pay for your membership. If everyone went 3 days a week to the gym, they wouldn't be in business at these prices lol

just dispute it with credit card, assuming you used one.

(Our) PF always requires you letting them link to your bank account so they can take their payments directly. Our branch made it a big hassle to cancel ours. Never again. They lied upfront about fees and how to cancel as we did ask them about all the details before joining. When it came time for us to cancel, they pulled a couple of scam tactics that were misrepresented or omitted upfront.
Is there a promo code to access this deal online? Maybe I can sign up using the OP's link, but then just go to the gym closest to my home (in another state).

This is why this is a slick deal.
It's $99, no extra fees.
Tell them you don't have a bank account.
Use cash or a prepaid card (with only $100 on it) and you avoid all the issues.
this is like my 5th year using this promo.
Also, a lot of health insurances refund the fee for a gym membership, so look into that if you have health insurance.

Like I said our club does not accept anything other than a direct bank account link. I have edited because apparently, YMMV, as someone said they are mostly franchises. Is yours corporate or just some franchisee who accepts those methods?
I just for kicks went on their site, but our club isn't participating in your deal at all. AND they require your bank info for any plan.

I might snag it if gyms re-open before the deal expires at end of Dec.
