FYI, this is not able to be purchased without signing up for a Verizon account
MAKE SURE TO CHOOSE PAY IN FULL BETWEEN STEPS 4 AND 5
DO NOT add to cart unless you have or plan to open a Verizon account. You will not be able to access your cart to remove the phone without logging in to Verizon or signing up for Verizon.
Edit: If you do get stuck on the Verizon log in page without access to your cart, go back and add an unlocked version to your cart. That will move you past the Verizon log in screen
Question which everyone would like to see answered:
Will the following steps work? Never had experience with VZN, so need some inputs here:
Step1: Buy phone, create a new VZN account
Step2: Activate line once the phone arrives
Step3: Cancel line and close account within 3 days to get refunded
Step4: Phone gets unlocked 60 days after activation, automatically.
If this works, this is a wonderful deal, else YMMV.
Answer - The above won't work, as the phone would only be unlocked if you stay in-service for 60 days. But you'd still be able to use the phone on a Verizon-MVNO such as Visible.
Per #678:
Service is not required to be maintained for 60 days. The moment you place an active verizon sim inside and place a single call, the 60 day countdown is started, regardless if service is maintained after that one call is placed. In addition, the phone is NOT unlocked for use on an MVNO until *AFTER* the 60 days. It's not like AT&T where you can use a locked device on an MVNO. The phone is completely and utterly tied to VERIZON POSTPAY (not even prepay will work) until unlocked.

If anyone wants an extra 10% off can do the cancel after placing order trick or when it arrives return and say you found for cheaper. Also, can stack with student discounts.
If you don't want the Verizon can for tmobile for like 50$ more. Easy unlock.
Not my referral code, but thanks. I found it online and used it... NOT MINE.
60 days unlocked on verizon, must be active for 60 days then auto-unlock.
What do you mean by contact? do you have to call?
Quoting from Verizon's policy: [verizon.com]
Postpay Device Unlocking Policy
Devices that you purchase from Verizon are locked for 60 days after purchase. Devices that you purchase from our retail partners are locked for 60 days after activation. After 60 days, we will automatically remove the lock. Following the 60 day lock period, we do not lock our phones at any time.
