That said, the base design on this looks a little iffy, but great price for size and shipped to your door. I have a pre-lit one used for the last 4-5 yrs, I've noticed about 2 lights are out this year, but have added another string so it's still going strong. I do HATE the base on mine though, so maybe spend a little more if you want a decent base.

I hate to break this to you, but chances are your house is too. Virtually every Christmas tree and ornament is made in China now. The only difference is the label and quality control.
This is what happens when short sighted CEOs want to meet short term quarterly revenue targets, and politicians turn a blind eye to Chinese imports while American companies are barely allowed to do business in China's domestic market.
