Multipoint Bluetooth, slightly improved sound, 10% thicker earpads + wider band (better comfort), same claimed battery life of 30 hrs (one reviewer tested it and found the XM4 had slightly less battery life than the XM3), sensor in one of the earcups so music will stop when you take off the headphone, more microphones for somewhat better call quality (Bose 700 much better for calls). You're correct about the loss of AptX codec support.

General consensus is the XM4 is a definite improvement, but not worth upgrading from the XM3. Still a good purchase if you find it on sale.
