Why do I need this if I have Android TV? (Besides GeForce now I guess)

Getting 35 bucks off with random instacart promos... Is this worth upgrading from a Google TV?
If you have the new Chromecast (I forget the specific name of it now, Google TV?), no, unless you plan on using the extra features like gaming/streaming

I have an nvidia shield, and honestly the new Chromecast VALUE WISE is better, unless you're gaming with the shield. Theres other features that are great with the shield to, but I feel like they are mostly superfluous

Because SPEED kills. No android device have the speed, smoothness and snappiness of the Shield. I remembering see a benchmark score of 19k on shield vs all the other device which are around 5k or less which include the new chromecast with google tv device.I try it and was not as good as the shield speed. Speed alone is worth it. But if you don't care about that. It's basically just a another android tv device. Just use whatever comes with your smart tv.

Also a plus is AI upscaling, maybe gamestream/GeforceNow and if you have a home theater then it's a must since it support real lossless 7.1.4 channel TrueHD Amtos, not the netflix version of lossy 5.1+amtos and DTS:X.

no dolby vision though
That is incorrect. Xbox series X does have Dolby vision and it's under the display settings on the device if your TV supports it.

Only for gaming and not for 4k movies or bluray
It is literally on their website and I have a TV and the Xbox and have used it. https://news.xbox.com/en-us/2020/...at-launch/

"With our new consoles, immerse yourself with fuller colors, enhanced dynamic range, and spatial sound just as the filmmakers and creators intended on Xbox Series X|S with Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos, which are supported on apps like Netflix, Disney+, and Vudu."

Hot garbage please use something else. Have mine and very buggy but it's android so what did I expect. Using an Xbox 100% better experience and I don't even game.
Not hot garbage to people even remotely tech savvy. Also pretty hilarious that you compare a $500 device to a $200 device. Stick to the basics where you belong, kiddo.
