The deal can be triggered when purchasing a gift card.
Do NOT use Paypal or anything other than the "Credit Card" option during checkout folks. Using any other form of checkout even funding it via the same credit card is not the same. Make sure you use the same credit card that you enrolled on your Gpay account too.
Thanks. Google Pay seems to be stepping up their game.

There is also nothing saying you can't unlink all of your info after you redeem these rewards.

Tons of ppl will probably do just that.
Once you gave them premission to review your bank activities, I dont know how good it is that you un link.

They got you, save info. and have your signed premission.

Same for cc.

When people say they're getting the $21 cashback for the $50 Target purchase "instantly", is this because they used a linked debit card to pay at Target?

I used my linked credit card to buy a $50 Target giftcard, and Google Pay is saying I'll get the $21 in 30 days. Not instantly...?

I read every single comment on this thread and couldn't find the answer to this question: Can those of us who already received the max 3 referral bonuses back when it was a random amount from $1-10 still refer 3 more people under this new $21 referral promo?

For self referral to another account, can we re use phone numbers? Or does it need to be on another phone with a different number?

My target account default my payment to redcard. Not able to reset. Creating new target account also does not work. Help...

Remove all cards including Red card linked to your account. Then add just the credit card used with Gpay. When checking out point to this card and check out.

Yep, I just entered that card at checkout on target.com. There's no google pay option
Can confirm that I entered the same card in Target website as I activated on the Google pay app. Ordered a $50 google play card and received a notice of $21 credit. I don't know where the credit is yet, and I have not received the gift card yet(says may take up to 4 hours to process) but the credit came right away. I hope this answers the same question I had.

Using credit card to make a purchase is one thing, and has its risk.

But g pay ask you to sign you agree tehy can review all your other credit card transactions!

and all your banking line by line activities - WHY????

and why would anyone agree?

Unless when you are offered $21 you dont read what you authorize them to do, and click OK?

You sign you agree they can regularly review ALL your charges on your credit card, not only what you do with them/ target

and you allow them to review ALL your banking activity - ALL

Why would you sign this?

Did you read what you agree to? or $21 too strong of a temptation?
Because I don't care. I'm not famous and don't engage in illegal activity. They can go ahead and see my chipotle, Costco and Ralph's charges.

For me, I just had to make sure to use the enrolled card that GPay told me to use, and make sure to select that card to pay for my gift card purchase rather than my Target RED card. Once the purchase went through using the GPay enrolled card, I immediately got the $21 push notification. I hope that helps!
