It does what it's made to do a lot better, AKA far superior blending results. It can also blend a lot tougher things than the $20 blenders can. Materials used are quality and long-lasting, which helps it to produce consistently near perfect results. It can also get you laid, just show it to your date and it will really wow her (if she's cultured, that is).

How's this one compared to costco bundle at 300? I think the personal cups value more than fancier options if the results are more or less the same.
All Vitamix blenders are amazing machines, IMO. I own the 5200 and the A3500. I honestly prefer the 5200. The A3500 looks amazing, but the design of its wider low profile container makes it an air pocket nightmare. It doesn't suck the food down into the blades like the narrow 5200 container does. I blend mostly frozen veggies, kale, spinach etc. It seems to struggle a lot more with larger amounts of cruciferous vegetables than the 5200 does, despite its supposedly more powerful motor. I don't feel that you're missing out on much unless you want a touchscreen or something more stylish for your kitchen. You're getting a Vitamix, so either way, it's going to be a great machine that's made in America with a company that actually stands behind its products. An incredibly rare combination these days.

We have both a Blendtec and a Vitamix. Both are great but the ascent series is just a gimmick with the Bluetooth containers so they can charge more. Does the base really need to know I attached a 48 ounce jar instead of a 64?

I use mine everyday, but someone told me you will get fat using this machine because it processes food so it's easier to consume lots of calories.
is it healthier to eat 2 whoppers than to blend them and drink them? challenge accepted!

Got this one (red A3500) for similar price on TG day from vitamix.com. Just created an RMA to return it back.

It worked great for few times and started throwing error codes and would not run until the codes disappeared.

Looks like a common problem with this model. So ordered the Costco Venturist model 2 days back.

I really liked the sleek design and display, but needed something that can work as a blender as well.

Got one a few weeks ago during the black Friday sale. It's awesome! Highly recommend.
99% sure that was the A3200 but it's exactly the same except it doesn't have the programs built into the body like this one does.

Where can I find a good comparison of this versus the Costco one? Thanks
The difference is aesthetics and the quick presets. If you want the quick presets and the capacitive touch buttons get this one. If you prefer the physical paddle switches and can live without the quick presets then I would go with the Costco V1200. The both have the same motor, they both have bluetooth if you want to use them with the smart scale and they both use the smart containers and they both have a 10 year warranty. Also the Costco one comes with a lot of accessories like a 20 ounce to go cup, the mixing base for the to go cup, it comes with the tamper holder, it comes with the container scraper and it also comes with 2 of the small 8 ounce containers. This will just come with the wet 64 oz low profile container and that is it.

So the V1200 is a better deal if you can get over the no quick presets and capacitive buttons.

skip around this video to find out why. The hamilton beach can't even crush ice. Vitamix can do anything and you have a 10 year warranty on these units for just about anything that might go wrong with them, they are made in the usa and the warranty includes free shipping to send it back if something goes wrong on it. At the end of the day you don't need a vitamix if you are doing the occasional smoothie. But if you want the smoothest smoothies and the ability to make sorbets and nut butters along with a ton of other stuff you need a Vitamix.

Were you getting E1 or E3 error codes?

I got A2300 new for $250 on ebay. I know motor is same on all Ascent series. Worth upgrading to this?
I have had the a3500 for just over a year, didn't get a great deal like this and while we love it, I'd have gladly saved even more to be without the presets. A2300 still has the smart tech you need for the new accessories. I'd personally put the cash saved toward the 20oz or 8oz cups or food processor. The only thing you're missing is digital and presets - imo those features aren't worth nearly twice the price!

Yep, this is exactly what was happening to mine. It kept overheating with the same load I normally place into my 5200. I sent it back and got another, but I've read countless stories like this, which is why I say don't bother getting the bells and whistles model unless you really, really want it over the others.
