You need to read your link again.

November 2023 equals to 3 years from their launch in November 2020.... I said 3 years of security updates. Correct.

"Pixel phones get security updates for at least 3 years from when the device first became available on the Google Store in the US."
You need to remember what you wrote:

Quote from Bflo23 :
The Pixel 4a 5G gets 2 system updates and 3 years of security updates.

.
P4a5G gets 3 Android version updates.

You are incorrect again.

why did you select swappa over ebay to sell your phone?

what's the significance of "local market"? When you sell, don't you ship it?
You need to sell an arm and a leg to cover for ebay "fees".

Just in case this has not be an already said. There needs to be a correction to the specs. This phone is not rocking a Snapdragon 865. The processor is dependent on region but from what I found it is a SnapDragon 765G since it has 5G.
Samsung doesn't advertise the chipset on the site. Their site just says 8 core processor.
Still an amazing deal though.

I have a 6splus phone which not only has a badly broken screen but the front frame is also broke. Does it qualify for this offer or is the qualification if the screen is broken and not the surrounding frame??

I am not using the phone - it is a paper weight.

So, if I "trade it in", is my net cost for the Galaxy A71 5G zero which I can then later sell?
Did you read the trade-in values in the first post? Did you try the Samsung site and apply your phone to see what your net cost is?

TLDR; NO...you can't get a FREE A71 by trading in a busted up iPhone 6S.

"S20 5g is better than this phone."

What?! What a shocker?! You said the $1K Samsung Galaxy S20 5G with the launch price of $999.99 is better than the Samsung Galaxy A71 5G. You are comparing apples to oranges. Who said this phone was a flagship? Samsung never said it was a "flagship". Samsung sells a billion various models from budget to expensive flagship.

Where is the unlocked Samsung Galaxy S20 5G deal where people are paying $180 out of pocket with no plan? I missed that deal.
I love the sarcasm at the end. Wish there was a deal like that I would have jumped on it instead of paying $1400 for my s20 ultra. There is a video comparing both phones. The A71 and s20 ultra and of course s20 ultra is better but A71 is a pretty good budget phone, add the price for A71 and it's a steal. I don't understand why there are people comparing s20 5g to this phone both are night and day as well as price wise one is cheaper and still a good phone.

It just reported as out of stock.

I was planning to chat to see if I could trade in two phones on one order. I have two functioning S4's.

I will wait for the next deal, perhaps.

I'm writing this review from the piece of junk called an A71.

HISTORY: I had a s9+ for almost 2 years. I tried to catch a good deal on the s10 or s20, but samsungs retail prices are outrageous and all promotions require an add-a-line. I got sick and tired of waiting and got an iPhone 11. Very powerful and smooth machine but i couldn't get used to the switch, specially without a fingerprint scanner.

Then I decided if I can't get a deal on a flagship phone, I'll try a "mid" tier Samsung A71. It's not a mid tier people. It's not. You'd think a phone that retails at $650 would be solid, its not. It stutters like the old cheap crap that cost $130 in a t-mobile store 7 years ago. Can't multitask properly. Almost freezes at least 2-3 times a day. Gotta close all the apps to give a chance to breathe. The s9+ was a much more solid performer. The freaking iPhone has their flagship processor in their $650 AND $400 phones. Only the size and features are different. Samsung should do the same.

Here's the worst part. A $650 that's not waterproof. They say it should handle a bit of splashing here and there, IT DOESNT. I was listening to a podcast in the shower and minimal water splashed on it. I wiped the water right after. The phone started acting like crazy. For almost a week, the volume is going up and down without the rockers being touched. Thought it was the case, but it wasn't. Also I couldn't hear anyone or anyone hear me no matter what I tried. Speaker, Bluetooth device, car. I Reset the phone 4 times during that period. Thankfully, it slowly went back to normal.

Also the fingerprint scanner is straight trash. It will scan my fingerprint on the first attempt 1 in 10 times if I'm lucky. I usual get frustrated and swipe up to use the pattern

This is my last Samsung device for a while. I'm probably going to give the pixel a try, and go back to the iPhone when they bring back the fingerprint scanner.

Further PROOF that this phone is trash. the pixel 5 and iPhone 11 are in the same retail price range, but never have these kind of promotions. And Samsung never has similar promotions on their other phones. Also, try to trade this phone BACK in to SASMUNG for their flagship phones, YOU SIMPLY CAN'T. It's not even listed. Because they know it has no value.

If you need a phone to get by, go for it. But do NOT buy this phone thinking it's a solid mid tier phone.
