Crazy. Sizes 9 & 10 were available when I posted a few minutes ago. Looks like there are only a few 10.5 left too.

Thanks OP. I have been wanting to try the zero drop. At this price I can not feel guilty about wearing them out if they don't work for me.

For sure. Just keep in mind that these particular Altras are designed for trails so the tread will wear faster on regular roads. Great shoes though.

Yea, these will be a little loud and annoying on pavement. I try to avoid using them for anything but trail running or hiking. The lugs will be gone within a couple months if you use them as casuals.

How do these compare to the perennially popular Lone Peak?

Lone Peak 4.5's have a little more cushion (25mm stack height vs 19mm for the King MT2) and weigh a little more (10.5oz vs. 8.7oz). The King MT2 is a little firmer and more responsive.

The King MT's also have the velcro strap, which is for use when going downhill to tighten up the hold on your foot to prevent it from slipping forward in the shoe.
If you hike in a region where there's a lot of up and down, this is a great alternative to constantly tightening and loosening your laces. I wish Altra put this on all their trail runners, but it's one of the reasons these are my favorite trail runners.
