Got rejected, have a 780ish credit score. Maybe too many credit card sign ups recently
From what I could find online regarding BofA these are their restrictions for credit cards:

- You can only get approved for 2 new cards in a 30-day period
- You can only get approved for 3 new cards in a 12-month period
- You can only get approved for 4 new cards in a 24-month period

Apparently it only looks at BofA cards. Where as the Chase 5/24 rule looks at any credit card issued to you, regardless of which company issued it to you.

Edit: Adding the 7/12 and 3/12 rules for BofA higher up to this comment.

"7/12 and 3/12 rule"

"According to this rule, customers with a BofA deposit account will not be approved for new cards if they've opened seven cards (across all issuers) in the last 12 months, while customers without a BoA deposit account will be rejected if they've opened three or more cards in the last 12 months."

Also rejected - 820 credit score and i have no BoA credit cards (never have). They did hit me with a hard credit check though. :|

This actually is the best credit card without annual fee.
If you are BoA honor premium member, you can get 75% more cashback to $5.25% on your selected catalog

I'd beware of BoA credit card bonus offers. I did this a couple years ago, and got the card. After I fulfilled my large spending requirement to get the bonus, they told me I was not eligible for the bonus. They gave me a bogus reason for renegging on the bonus even after I showed them a screenshot of the original online bonus offer and terms corresponding to the credit card I applied for.

That made me furious and will never do business with BoA ever again.

I have had this card for a few years, and it has worked well for me. However, with recent news about the company mass profiling their customers and providing info to the FBI without a warrant, I may be hesitant to use it again. I don't commit any crimes, but I don't need big brother looking over my shoulder every time I make a purchase.
I've only heard bad things about BofA. Fees, bad customer service, etc. While I doubt BofA is the only CC company profiling and willingly handing over information to authorities, it's just another reason for me to never interact with them. Never have, never will. Thanks.

I would be very wary of Bank of America's credit cards. I was in the BoA ecosystem for 15 years (it was my college bank and I never knew how bad it was) and got out of it last year. Their branches are worthless except for opening new accounts, if you have an issue they literally call the same hotline you do and just wait with you.

I do have this specific card and it is generally fine, I use it for 3% back on online purchases mostly and I buy/sell music gear so I hit the cap pretty quickly. I'm considering moving to an AMEX with 1.5% back exchanging the 1.5% difference for customer service.

HOWEVER, it is nearly impossible to get in contact with someone in the credit card department if you have an issue. I had to dispute a couple charges over the years and they make you fill out an automated form where you can put attachments, but the form doesn't work properly and they always lose some of the attachments/evidence. Then you have to spend hours on the phone to speak to anyone and they just make you fax in appeals. They do not give you any sort of receipt for the appeal so you have to get on the phone again for hours hoping they didn't "accidentally" lose it. I recently had an issue where I was overcharged, the vendor was having issues refunding and literally told me to dispute as that's the only way to get the money back. BoA "lost" my dispute and then said it was too late.

Terrible deal, it was $200 bonus with $500 spend forever. Now FP deal with $500 spend!?
You have a typo (was $500 spend requirement, now $1000). But yeah, shucks to this new offer! Gotta be a paid promotion, wise up people!

Well, it has definitely not been my best card. They are really touchy on the fraud triggers, I got locked down quite a few times, mostly grocery shopping. As to fees, I have not had to pay any thankfully as I pay it off monthly. But, I am sure they would stick it to me if I was late. Overall, I wouldn't call it a great experience, just Ok I guess.

I have 4 BoA accounts and barely used any of them. You may wonder why I have 4 accounts with them. It is because BoA acquired MBNA 15 years ago. In the meantime, MBNA was one of the best credit card issuers, especially with their BillPay feature. After the merger and when we came to the financial crisis in 2009, BoA slashed the credit lines on all of my cards. Since then, I rarely used them. Maybe once or twice a year to keep the accounts active. The reason I haven't closed any of them because they are my oldest accounts. In terms of card benefits, BoA is not competitive at all. Their reward program is just a joke, nothing really worth to redeem.

I have their cards. I would say it's worth it. The higher 5.25% if you qualify, for online shopping is good. Also I have their gray card (premium rewards) and get 1.5% plus 75% (2.6%) cashback on all purchases with no limit.

A warning though. No online chat. No email support. All phone.

The Capital One Savor card deal is a lot better. $250 bonus vs. $200 on this one. And just $500 spending requirement in 90 days vs. $1,000 on this. And 0% APR for 15 months vs. 12 months on this.

So Wells Fargo and now BoA. Is any bank not dishonest lol
Add JPMorgan Chase to the list of dishonest banks. They lied about submitting 1st and 2nd draw PPP loans to the SBA for thousands of small businesses. Our business submitted via Chase, who notified us ~3 days after the application that 'we've sent your application to the SBA and are waiting on their approval'. After two weeks of waiting, our business decided to go through a well known Fintech company, where we signed SBA loan docs within 3 days through another lender (i.e. another bank that partners with the Fintech Company). Honesty is hard to come by these days.

I have a few of these on my account. The rotating categories help fill in the gaps my 5% cards leave depending on the quarter.
Technically if you're a large enough customer, you get 5.25% CB once the actual deposit is made and the 75% bonus is factored in. Not bad for a zero fee card.
Yes I have this exact setup across multiple cards. I get 5.25% back in a variety of categories, all with no annual fee.

Can you share your best rewards setup?
I find the boosted 5.25% pretty hard to beat

Does anyone know what category does "ikea.com" fall under ? Is that online shopping or home improvements/furnishing ?
Quote from Min13 :
Anything .com is online shopping.
BoA is the weirdest most stone age bank. Enter SSN on teleprompts like no prob & their website is hardly mobile compatible. Certainly can't setup reoccurring transfer from mobile site.

Month one of this card & I'm really squeamish about really liking it for .com
This .com wasn't eligible for 3% Dancewear Solutions

Then I got hit with $0.98 foreign transaction fee that was paid with paypal they confirmed is from Romwe that Citi Doublecash certain never hit me with.
