Wow great deal. You could use the S20 as a stepping stone to the S21 by trading it in next year. You may even get more than $400 trade in credit.

It's illegal to try to block number porting. They can give you a runaround (e.g., need to call to get the account pin) but will give up eventually.
My understanding is that the law only applies to customers who haven't terminated. In the case of a post-paid provider, they can't block the port-out even if you owe them money. In the case of a prepaid provider, they consider your account terminated at the point at which the prepaid service expires and they are no longer obligated to port your number out.

That understanding may be wrong but I have seen numerous people post about not being able to get their numbers ported from prepaid plans without reactivating their service first. Of course, this is all irrelevant if Cricket is post-paid or if their policies allow it.

Yea. Forget about transferring over that phone number then. You must fulfill that promotion and use that PHONE for 22 more days. You don't want to get hit with a $200 bill later.

I got 42 more ACTIVE days needed for a Moto G Power phone.... $49 purchase.

If I don't keep that Moto G Power phone active for 42 more days, I will be hit with a $200 bill later.
Got 16 more days to go for my Pixel 4a5g. Can't wait to get this done.

Potentially dumb question, but do I need to use this phone on the line that I port in, or can I swap it over to another SIM and keep the Fi line active but on a different phone?
Hehe... Is that risk worth $600 to you?

Can I get some opinions? s20+ or wait for the s21+ and pay a lot more due to new release? Is the s21 a huge enough upgrade to justify the cost?

Will be trading in a note 10+.

Edit: nm, will probably go with the s20+ due to more memory and price.

Rumor is the S21 Ultra will still retain the SD card slot but of course will be higher priced.
Lots of rumors all will be settled 1/14 at the event.

Ok, my understanding is that I can add visa gift cards to google pay, right? So what stops me from creating a new google account, adding my gift cards on there and buying the phone and then forgetting about that google account with no other payment methods in google pay?

P.S. I have no qualms with ripping google off, so my morality remains intact. Smilie

Out of curiosity, has anyone tried this? Does google mark the imei as unpaid in this situation?

Great deal as I don't see much changes coming in S21 line up. Got a Fi referral code from eBay which will give me $20 off in the second month statement so we only pay for 2 months of service.

They have it for $899. It didn't get the extra discount the S20 series got presumably because it isn't 7 days away from getting replaced like the S20 lineup is.

Yeah, part of me if wondering if Fi can blacklist the imei. I'm not sure how though seeing the phone is unlocked, and there is no contract. I once had a red card from Target I forgot was attached to a checking account I no longer. I made a purchase and it went through. Then I got a letter in the mail from Target said I owed them the balance. I assumed they weren't reporting to a credit agency and ignored the letter. They sent 2 more and then stopped. Never seen or heard anything since.
That might be the situation here. Google might just send emails to the new account about an unpaid balance and declining cards, and nothing more. They also might blacklist the IMEI.
Real question is if it's worth $40 plus taxes and waiting 3 months to get use the phone with whichever carrier you like.

This seems to be for existing customers too, right? I don't even see anything that says you have to add a line. You just have to activate it on a full service plan. Presumably that includes the full service plan you're already paying for. Does anyone know if this is correct? I haven't been able to get on chat to ask this.

Btw I don't think the Samsung phones benefit from network switching that Google Fi has. In case anyone cares about that.
