Wow great deal. You could use the S20 as a stepping stone to the S21 by trading it in next year. You may even get more than $400 trade in credit.

It's unlocked, but you need to stay in fi for 90 days to get your $600 discount

No they are unlocked from day1, and you get the $600 discount initially, but one of the conditions is that the phone needs to be active on Fi for 90 days, else they will charge you for the $600.

Some people have suggested that after activation of Fi, you can take the Fi sim out and use the phone with other sim, but Do not put the FI sim on another phone as that will invalidate the offer. and of course keep the plan active for 90 days.

You can also get 20 off of your second bill. You can pm me for more details
I'm assuming putting your original sim back in would not work if you ported your ATT # to Google FI?

So what? Don't use Fi & cancel Fi service after 90 days. Use Google Voice numbers to port in.
it was in reply to a specific query by another member asking how much are the taxes and fees

I don't think so. Bunch of us did the 4a 5g couple months back with new numbers and I didn't see anyone that did not qualify.
Quote from FancyTeam7624 :
how would Fi know when the number was activated when it is being activated on a different carrier

Thanks for your input.

Is there any way to make a line without a phone? I gave it the IMEI of my Pixel 2 and both IMEI's of my wifes Pixel 5 and it says they are all not compatible.

Yes xfinity mobile byod is a good source of phone numbers to port from.
Yep, i just tried with an LG phone that i had got from Xfinity itself but had cancelled the line. Online there are no option to even check an LG phone for compatibility. It only lists iPhone, Galaxy and Pixel. I know once activated the sim can be used in any phone, that how was using for the last ~3 years.

Is there a trick to be able to bypass that compatibility check on Xfinity Mobile?

My Mint Mobile plan expires in February. I was thinking of taking this deal, transferring the number over and keeping the service active for 90 days, and then signing back up with Mint. Are there any gotchas with that strategy or do you think that would work?

That is exactly what most people are doing, just with their different carriers. Just make sure that you do not put the Fi Sim in any other phone, Some people have reported it is fine to use the phone with other sime before the 90 days but not fine to use Fi SIM on any other phone

You can also get 20 off of your second bill. You can pm me for more details

It turns out you can only get the $20 discount on 3rd bill. They give you the referral credit 30 days after service start. Credit needs to be on your account on the day of bill generation. Of course 2nd bill is generated in 30th day also. I chatted with customer service and wasnt able to use it on 2nd bill.

Some people had it on their 3rd bill, others on their second bill. My came in for the second bill, as i activated on 28th Nov, but my billing started on 2nd Dec and the credit got applied on 2nd jan.

Anyways since the requirement for this deal is 90 days, it will still benefit you

Please list all cheap and easy ways to port-in new phone number that I do not have. And what are the associated fees with buying a SIM card? Do I have to pay for the first month on one of other services?

Those of you looking for numbers to port in, just buy a number from Number Barn. You can get numbers for as low as $5 and when the phone comes just port it in.

Buy a pre paid sim kit with pre loaded plan.

For example, target currently has ultra mobile 1gb plan for $10. I bought this. I activated it when I got home and went with the new number option during activation.

The other option is to buy a plain sim card for $1-$3. Then activate it and sign up for the cheapest plan with a new number.

The first option was easiest for me and was available at my local target for $10 so I went with that. I now have a new number that I will use for the sake of this deal then once I port it into fi, I'll just keep it active for 90 days to maintain the discount criteria of the promo terms, then get off of google fi service.

Thanks for the information. Do you know if you can buy two phones with this deal and get the discount for each?
