Wow great deal. You could use the S20 as a stepping stone to the S21 by trading it in next year. You may even get more than $400 trade in credit.

It's unlocked, but you need to stay in fi for 90 days to get your $600 discount

Not true. If you use the FI sim in other device, you will get the charge on your credit card and no one will help you since Fi sim swapped from original device and it will void the promo.
Agree. I had that issues for 4a 5g deal. I had to beg them and it took a lot of drama to get back the promo. I would not recommend. However what I did not knew at that time, I could have put fi on to e sim and my Verizon solid sim. So noth would have been working. That's what I currently do but promo was affected before. I would not recommend to put fi sim in different phone to keep it active. Also my fi account clearly shows what phone was the sim in.

Right, most folks want to use fi phone with other sim. We don't need to put fi sim in any other phone. We want to know for sure if that has any affect on promo.

That promo also has a 90 day requirement, if you get a new promo before that one completes, then that promo will become invalid. You can however add a new line(which is called adding a new person in FI)

You can check you current promo days remaining by going to Billing -> Fi Savings -> in Progress
You have 30 days to activate this phone. Until you do that the other promo continues

Can anyone confirm that the S20 5G supports eSIM?
Everything I have read indicates that the none of the US firmwares support esim on any of the S20 models.

For people who want this deal primarily for the unlocked phone to use with a non-Fi GSM carrier (like me), there is one absolute rule of thumb - and that is do NOT in any way put the Fi SIM into any other phone once it has been activated with the Google-bought Fi phone.

The moment the Fi SIM enters any other phone other than the one that you bought this deal with, the SIM with connect to Google's system and the IMEI or whatever of the non-Fi phone will no longer match with the Fi SIM and Fi phone that Google expected you to have.

If you want to use the unlocked phone with another carrier: once Fi SIM is activated on the Fi phone, you can take the Fi SIM out, but leave it out. Place it in a drawer, hide it under your couch, feed it to your cat, etc but do not put it in another phone. It's that simple.

OK, thanks. I guess it's not a deal for me then.

Why? Just remove fi sim and use other carrier sim.

I think it is a software issue as opposed to not having the hardware. Take a look at the below link. The requests that Samsung enable the esim on these phones in the US are still coming in as of fairly recently.

Wow. I read this for the existing customers.

"An existing Fi customer is somebody who has been active on Fi on or before January 5th, 2020."

January 5th, 2020? Sheesh. I am an existing customer with a current $230.26 google fi credit balance due to earlier November trade-in deal..... However I do not qualify for the $600 off promotion deal and I won't be able to use my google fi credit for this Samsung deal. If I can't use my google fi credits with my current google fi account, it is an easy pass for me now. Oh well...... Paying $26.53 per month with no data use on this deal is too much for me. Thank goodness that I got $40 refs with my earlier deal.

***** UPDATE: It appears to be a typo error. The promo seems to be working when I go to checkout... I didn't click the confirm order button though.

Are you certain that we can use the phone with another carrier without loosing the discount? I have seen conflicting reports from other threads about that...

Is it safe to put your own sim in the S20 after you take the FI sim out? I don't want to spend 400 but cannot use the phone for 3 months
