Wow great deal. You could use the S20 as a stepping stone to the S21 by trading it in next year. You may even get more than $400 trade in credit.

It's unlocked, but you need to stay in fi for 90 days to get your $600 discount

Just got the phone and activated it today. The SIM was already in the phone and the number barn number I used seemlessly moved over. Activation took about 5 minutes this way. Updates took about an hour. So far very pleased with this phone. Service is worse than my old plan with straight talk. Will go back to them after 3 months

Biggest reason is price I think. Data is really expensive on Fi.

I am not switching but keeping it open 90 days without data usage.
Exactly data is super expensive, they should alteast include 2 GB data on the $25 plan and knowing they are using Sprint/Tmobile it should not be hard at all. MetroPCS and T-mobile does have unlimited data plans for $25 or less when you have multiple lines and includes hotspot data and what not. I am not sure what is the advantage of Fi? Seriously google needs to fire their mobile and service product managers.

Google could just go to Xaomi and make the Mi 11 and launch it as the next Pixel. Then Samsung will be bye bye!

Is there any return window for these phones? If I get it and it doesn't work well on my Fi service can I return it for full refund?

This deal for S20 5G or the Visible deal for Pixel 4a 5G? Any help to decide will be appreciated.

I know the Pixel comes out cheaper after GC and selling the B&O speakers, but I plan to use the phone for trade-in for next years iPhone 13 Pro Max. Phone will be used as regular phone (social media, videos, camera) and no gaming.

Pixel Pros: Slightly better photos, stock android, regular updates
Pixel Cons: Build Quality, lack of IP68 (ones i care about)

Pros for S20: Better Build, Powerful SoC, Screen, 12GB RAM, potentially higher trade-in/resell value
Cons for S20: Samsung bloatware, photos not as good as Pixel/iPhone Pro
I had the 4a 5G. It's a nice phone. Better quality than I thought it would be and it took beautiful photos. Nice display and an uncluttered OS. BUT, I ended up dropping it in water (my own stupid fault) and it killed it stone dead. It's replacement is going to be IP rated for sure.

New to Androids, quick question. For a basic/semi-spare phone that will still retain some value for trading in, is the S20 worth double the price of the A71 5G? ($400 vs $200) Thanks!!

I would say so. Specially now that we see inflated trade in value for S series phones in some promos. For example, you can get an S21 for free if you trade in an S9 (t-mobile, 24 months credit).

I had ordered Note 20 from the last Fi $500 off deal and was pending for a month. The google reps confirmed that the order was cancelled due to some payment issue. Now I got the S20 from this deal but then they shipped the Note 20 from the old November order. I messaged the Customer care asking to cancel the old order but it got delivered today. No payment was charged to my credit card either. Now I have to waste my time fixing their error?. Anybody have a similar issue?

Mine didn't update until the morning after I activated. Some people have it happen sooner. I don't know why it varies.

Why people here refrain from switching to Fi. Is it a bad network? Why would current provider be better than Fi?
my only reason is data.
I go over my att data they throttle me but i can still watch videos
on google fi once you hit data cap they throttle you back to 256kbps which is almost unusable

How do billing credit deals work? Have to pay T-Mobile postpaid plan $55+ per month for 24 months? Sounds expensive just to get a free phone.
