the New TOS specifically mentions the Samsung phone to be active on fi for 90 consecutive days.
Personally, I don't think those TOS are materially different. The first one reads "the phone" not "any phone" or "a phone". I think it is pretty clear that applies to the phone you purchased, not a random phone you had on-hand.

*shrug*. We will see what happens with the people who SIM swapped in time.

Sometimes they invalidate right before the end of promo or next billing cycle. We will see 3 months is a long time & they know if they invalidate now they will lose those months of service.
I'll take one for the team. I'm willing to risk $600 even if it's at the end of the promo 90 days. I'll report back once my countdown is done. I'm fully confident I won't break the promo.

The terms changed simply from "the phone" to be more specific. If anything, keeping "the phone" in their terms is better since it'll apply to every device they offer a big discount on.

My count down says 80 days. I did the same as you. The fi Sim is in my drawer. I am tempted to install it every few days though

Up to you. I feel extremely confident about leaving the fi sim out. Your choice though.

Got the phone. Have 3 questions:

1. where is SIM card? Is it already inserted in the phone?
2. how to transfer from google voice. It says it needs a PIN?
3. for trade in before 90 days, we should activate it first of course, remove SIM, reset the phone, and mail it in, correct? How to how to make sure Goggle Fi not installed after reset?

Thanks.

Yes, it comes pre-inserted.

The Fi app isn't re-installed after reset. It isn't even installed to begin with. You have to manually install it.

I've thought of that as well. From what I can tell, you just need to keep service active with Fi, not necessarily need to have the phone active. Like put the SIM in a drawer and forget about it, just don't put it in another phone.

Do keep in mind that the S21 series ditches MST for Samsung Pay and ditches MicroSD.
Yes, I've never used MST and I have the new TicWatch pro and NFC so I use it for ez No Touch payments. It does suck the lose of storage. But, MKBHD made a compelling argument in his video. Plus I have the low end s20 and to take $700 off the 1200 ultra sounds like a good deal.

I would like to purchase S20/s20+ porting my current phone # from other carrier and avail $600 off
If i want to use Google fi phone service, when Google fi phone is received:
can I only use google fi SIM card in my existing phone device? or I must use new phone?

No do not use the Fi sim at all in any other phone for the first 90 days after activation, till the offer completes, otherwise it will invalidate your offer and you will be charged the $600. Also you can get 20 off on your second bill

Until the promotion period ends, you must *not* put the Fi sim in another phone. That will void the promotion.
