Wow great deal. You could use the S20 as a stepping stone to the S21 by trading it in next year. You may even get more than $400 trade in credit.

It's unlocked, but you need to stay in fi for 90 days to get your $600 discount

I did. I waited until after the 60 day promo completed on the Pixel 4a 5G, then paused service until my S20 got delivered. Turned service back on and activated the S20, which transferred the line from Pixel 4a 5G to the S20. On the promo page, it shows activation checked off and transferred a number as checked off. Countdown for 90 days active service is updating as well, so far.
Do you recall how long before the "Activate device & transfer a number" options are checked off after you activate the S20 and transfer the line from the Pixel? Was it instant or takes a day or two? Thanks.

There is a differenc between adding a line to existing account vs. buying the phone for existing account.

To avoid transfer number you have to buy the s20 for the number you were already using on google fi. Did you do that or did you buy through add new person?

This seems awfully high for no dat. That's more fees than national carriers. I paid less in tax and regulatory fees to T-mobile when I was postpaid. Do you know the breakdown of those fees?

With this being 27.01 that means with 1gb of usage it would be close to $40 a month.

Taxes vary by state. For me it was $5.23 in taxes with no data in TX.

Anyone know how to ship phones to more than one address when signing up? It only lets me ship to one address when I tried signing up.

Unfortunately, I did not ask the rep about that. And I have been trying to re-connect with Google Fi Support for further clarifications but without success.
Did it work? I was going to order a $10 RedPocket plan with a new #

Correct. $20 plan + taxes and fees etc. I have not used any data on the plan. I activated the Fi SIM and service, and pretty much turned off mobile data and only on WiFi, then after system updates completed, I did a factory reset which deleted the Fi app, and I removed the Fi sim while it was booting up. The Fi SIM has not seen the light of day since.
Thanks for the update. Just want to make sure. Did you also leave your s20 in the box with the fi sim or you are using your s20 with other sim? and what's the cheapest SIM with a new number did you get?

I am using the S20 with another SIM. That was my original intent after reading through previous Fi threads about being able to use another SIM once the Fi SIM is activated, as long as the Fi SIM is not used with another phone. I've been using the S20 with another since I received it and after activating Fi.

I'm guessing they go by the IMEI number of the device the SIM card is tied to. It makes sense this way to me bc it's really difficult to see how Fi can keep track of the device's activity (with Fi app bring deleted & FR)

You've got me so tempted to follow your instruction steps.

Fairly certain that most people on SD at least are using(or not using) the $20/mo plan.
