Hello, I am looking for a nice flat bottom wok that works on an electric stove. Hoping to pay between $40 to $80 I am a beginner. Prefer not the non stick as the coating can be dangerous. Am expecting to season it, any suggestions? Thank you.
Got one 6 months ago. Great for deep frying. The stir fry was great but became sticky aafter about 3 months but did allow me to hone my skills. Game changer when it came to making fried rice. I bought a second one when firs time started developing rust.
Can anyone recommend a good, large wok? Not this walmart junk?

Great restaurant quality equipment for cheap.
That is cheap. Wish it doesn't have the coating. You are not supposed to heat the non-stick Teflon coating above 400F or something, but how can you avoid it when using a wok to stir-fry food? If you don't cook above 400F with a wok, why would you buy a wok in the first place? The design baffles me.
This is been same price in store for years, it's for those of us that like to eat non stock surface for dessert
any idea what's the coating?
can we burn off the coating and use it like a regular cs wok?
The coating is illusive and probably PFOA (Teflon). Reviews say it is decent carbon steel and if the wooden handles can be removed, throw it in a hot fire to burn off the Telfon (don't breathe the fumes), sand, season and you might have a decent Wok on the cheap.
i just returned this today, its not terrible but since i plan to do alot of stir frying and asian cooking i wanted to invest in a better wok. for the occasional use its fine
