There is a more affordable variant of the Tesla Model Y available. Now starts at $39,990 ($2k price cut) for a RWD 244 mile version. Those in CA will get $1500 additional off at time of purchase bringing it to $38,490 from Clean Fuel Reward (no income limits).. Some may also be eligible for the $2000 CVRP rebate but there are income limits. For those out of CA your state may also have additional incentives, I believe NJ had $5000 off (expired for now but may return) and you aren't charged tax on an ev making it an even better deal. The 7 seat config has been released as a $3000 option.

The ultimate revenge would be Tim Cook going to Elon Musk during the darkest time of iCar production to buy Apple out and Tesla doesn't take the meeting.

As for interior and exterior quality control that's another story.
But at this time there's no electric car that can compete with Tesla, give a few years and Germany and Japan should get there.
Way over priced (for what you get) since no real other alternative.
Tesla is not just competing against other EVs, they are competing against other ICE cars and succeding. Your comment on "way overpriced" is not an accurate statement if you look at the model 3s category which includes BMW, Lexus, Mercedes, and Audi. Tesla's are cheaper, depreciate less, require less maintenance, are higher performance, are safer, have more tech, and are better for the environment than any option at the same price. Some of these are better than any option at any price. This is all well documented since the Model 3 came out 4 years ago.

One of the main shortcomings of model 3 is that its interior is not in the same league as BMW, Mercedez and Lexus.

That's true- Teslas is generally significantly better.

Cleaner, better visibility, more advance climate control tech, larger screen, etc...

Certainly sales seem to reflect this-

For all of 2019 for example, Tesla sold as many Model 3s in the US as Lexus, BMW, and Mercedes combined sold 3 series, C-class, and ES vehicles.

BTW, here's a picture of the interior of Mercedes new EV... it looks ridiculous. Check out those giant 1970s air vents.

It is true. Tesla doesn't measure up. There is a consensus on that.

Right.

Instead of "measure up" they instead greatly exceed.

Hence why their sales are so much higher than the comparable models from all the brands you mention.

(spoiler: HIGHER sales within their class are BETTER- indicating which thing is PREFERED by buyers)

Right. They sell well because of many good qualities, of which interior design is not.

Objective reviews of Tesla vs. Mach-E put the Mach-E easily above a M3 in styling and interior design, quality of materials...... and it's a Ford.

Do you have links to examples of these "objective" reviews?

I ask because the first few I found largely point out Ford just copied Teslas interior then tweaked it a little...

Inside the Mach-E, modern Mustang design cues such as the dual-hump dashboard are overwhelmed by a good amount of Tesla design theft...your preferences will guide your opinion on these cars' interior styling, but there's credit to be given for Tesla's originality (and Ford's apparent ripping off of that originality)

There are tons upon tons of reviews and opinions out there that M3 is nowhere near a real luxury car when it comes to the interior and material quality.

You keep saying that.

Doesn't magically make it true.

Especially when I already cited 3 such review ssaying the opposite of your claim- explicitly saying how dated BMW interiors are for example in comparison to Teslas.

Here's a couple more than disagree with you

https://www.edmunds.com/tesla/model-3/

Quote :
How's the interior? 8.0/10

The Model 3's controversial interior design looks modern and cutting-edge. The driving position is highly adjustable and feels great, and the cabin is surprisingly roomy thanks to its minimalistic approach and all-glass roof. Forward visibility is also fantastic thanks to the low hoodline (due to the lack of an engine).

With an overall score of 78, the Tesla Model 3 is the top American car in the luxury compact car category....The interior has a quality finish.
