This is a deal? Not a bad drive, but seen better drives at this price, or less. If it was 1TB, then this is a deal.

Deal is OK, newer Micron DM0182 Controller and seems solid enough with DRAM cache and Encryption support out of the box.

I've been looking for a USB-C enclosure for nvme, but reviews always state heat issues. Anyone have a recommendation?

The 1TB dipped to $105 a couple weeks ago. I wouldn't necessarily jump on this deal.

Really no way around the heat issue, NVME drives just run hotter than SATA drives.

The SSK Aluminum enclosure is only $20 and unless you are pushing the drive at max usb 3.1/gen2 for sustained sessions it will be fine. The ASUS ROG Strix Arion is bigger so disappates better but is closer to $60. Either way keep in mind these newer nvme are rated around 3500mb/s and unless you spend close to $100 for a thunderbolt 3 enclosure, you are only getting 1/3 rated performance. $100 on an enclosure and you start questioning the usage of hardware. New motherboard if desktop. If not, maybe not working from a laptop? I dunno.

Repped for the SSK Enclosure (Just make sure to get the NVME keyed, not the SATA)

I've used it as an external enclosure on a Windows Machine and as a boot drive on 5 Mac's (Work project) They are capped at around 1000MB but work well and come with thermal tape that does a decent job of heat dissipation.

I've used some T3 Enclosures too for the faster speed but those things can get pretty toasty.

Plugable USB C to M.2 NVMe Tool-free Enclosure USB C and Thunderbolt 3 Compatible up to USB 3.1 Gen 2 Speeds (10Gbps) is my favorite. I also have a SSK one which is fine but I simply like the Plugable one better.

It can't hurt, are they shipping anything with that yet? I believe it was announced in August if I remember right.

Newegg.com has it for $54 (free shipping) = $59.99 - 10% coupon (ONLYUA2A, new email subscribers).

https://www.newegg.com/crucial-50...6820156246
Use coupon code: ONLYUA2A to get additional 10% off. I had issues, so I then opened chrome in incoginto mode, then had my wife enter her email\phone, credit card, etc so she'd be a new customer, then the coupon worked.

Also, if you add more items to your newegg cart, you may need to remove ONLYUA2A, then re-add ONLYUA2A for the coupon to apply to all items.
