Home Depot brought back the free tool option with the purchase of the M18 Fuel Hammer Drill & Impact kit (2997-22). Best part about it is the free tool and kit come up as separate line items making it "hackable" as is often discussed here.

Nice deal for some things. Hackable. I got the combo kit for $266 a few days ago using this deal. Use the router or the jig saw as the free item. The cheaper items don't help you much in this deal because the set is $399. As a general rule for hackable deals, the more equivalent the combo kit is in price to the free item, the better the hackable savings is no matter which item you keep.

It's sort of a repost of this deal (linked below) but the previous poster botched the deal and price. I still benefitted despite that by clicking through.

Wups, the post said it was their brushless kit, which is a step down from the fuel (I know fuel is brushless. They have a product marketed as fuel and separate product they call brushless) comment redacted.

Your post is super helpful. Adding the price breakdown even better. Community should appreciate the effort and clarity.

I would recommend listing price as $399 in the title, though, as that is the baseline price for the deal.

For the record I got the fuel combo for around $200 last year, but that was a pretty hot deal. Doable though if you keep your eyes open. Good post though, very thorough price breakdowns. If I was in need of anything on the list I'd bite
