The 2 things that are upgradable are what's holding you back. Also, it's not like it's 8GB, 12GB is actually decent and 512GB hard drive is also pretty decent. You really need the extra 512GB of integrated storage? Nowadays I'm good with 128GB because I store next to nothing on the unit itself.
My issues would most definitely be with the screen only being 250 nits and 60Hz.
I'd also understand having issue with a 2 generations old i5 processor, but for $700 that wouldn't seem fair.
Same price
This has a generation older CPU
Same GPU
This has 4GB more RAM
This has 2x the SSD (512GB vs. 256GB)
Gateway had 120Hz screen, this has 60Hz

What makes you say this is better?

Good review, battery life is terrible at about 1 hour and 20 mins not plugged in.

Gateway- 1 gen newer processor (10th gen over 9th gen) and 120Hz screen
Lenovo - More memory (12GB over 8GB) and larger SSD (512GB over 256GB).

Ok. I thought I had missed something. I bought the gateway and upgraded the ram to 16gb, and added another M.2, both for about $50, and it's been a sweet little gaming rig. It pushes my 240hz monitor no problem.
