Sorry for the clunky title, but I could not think of a better way to word it Smilie

Also, I am not really sure if it a PSA , or a deal 'per se', but it could be argued that by using the information in this posting , you will be able to save lots of money.

I will let the forum police be the judges Smilie

Final caveat, this may be old information for some, but others (like myself as of a week or so ago), this was very welcome news and has already helped me immensely! I was not able to find an official post detailing this information, so I decided to create one myself.

In several Lowes related threads, posters had mentioned that you could sign up for a Lowes for Pros account for free, even if you are not a contractor.

One big benefit of having this type of account is that items that are marked as "unavailable for ordering online", you are now able to order online for in store pickup. Using this method, I was able to take advantage of several deals that did not allow for in store pickup.

To access the associated Lowes For Pros version of a Lowes listing, simply add "forpros" to the www . lowes . com url. You will then be able to see the Lowes for Pros listing and (potentially) be able to order the item for in store pickup.

You will need to create a separate account, but I simply used my lowes email and password, and used my name as the company name. You can also leave the business tax ID fields blank when signing up.

Finally, I had a post a long time ago that had a link to all lowes clearance items sorted by price.

My main link for this post will be the Lowes for Pros version of this link, so you can see all clearance items for a given store and possibly be able to find something good for in store pickup!

Enjoy!

dunno how great of a resale they are, around me theyve been 40 for month+ and nobody was budging. you can probably slowly sell them at $30 a pop, still 3x money is great. I was told by the one worker that i shouldve seen earlier some person bought 25 of them. I mean its a no way to lose deal at 90% off lol

if you want an item, go find it instore yourself. It is not a pricing error, the prices are legit. They just said that so they dont have to fulfill your order. All ordering through lowesforpros does is alert the store associates which in most cases dont even know the price to start. If you cant find it in store yourself, then order through the site and hope for the best. Today i went to two lowes, one was marked down with the actual 90% off stickers on everything that was 90% off, next store i went to after checking with brickseek had nothing visually marked down but i knew it was all clearanced and grabbed. I mentioned to a worker about an item being 90% and i only grabbed two, 10 minutes later im waiting for a price check and i see them take them all behind to the pickup area because the manager and employees wanted afew now that they knew the price. Sometimes you get lucky like i did with a grill i got a 80% off grill last week and the lady who pulled the online order actually said how great of a deal it was when i picked it up. The associates scan the items when it gets pulled, they can easily set it aside for themselves and cancel the order. I have seen it enough and talked to enough lowes employees to know its very common.

Once again, i will reiterate, i do NOT think this is a loophole. And for everyone complaining about how the "SD effect" "shut down" lowes . com, that is baloney. That functionality to get things shipped that were clearance went away when they did a major backend redesign. As flattering as it is to think that this community can drive change at a multi million dollar company, i think people are just trying to find cause and effect where none exist.

Lowes for Pros, according to the fine print, was created for bigger businesses to have a more streamlined website experience. one of the by products of that is, apparently, better inventory management on the website. No where was I able to see that the average joe blow could not sign up for Lowes for Pros.

And again, IF (big IF) this is a loophole that is being exploited, can someone please tell me why only a select few individuals should know this knowledge?

I know I am preaching to deaf ears, but still, it really annoys me when some people pick and choose what should be shared. If we are not sharing any and all deals, what is the point of having sites like these?
its not a loophole. They well eventually just modify that site also though if there is too high a volume of orders. You are wrong in that they have better inventory tracking, its the exact same inventory on both. Main difference is lowes.com killed the ability to buy a majority of clearance items, lowesforpros.com still allows it. Thats really the main difference. Anyone can be a pro, so unless they require a business ID to run through the site, its going to be hard to stop regular people from joining. I think killing of lowes.com by the slickdeal effect is in reference to the coupon thread which pretty much destroyed good lowes coupons forever lol

Only bad thing about lowesforpros is that you can't use it in conjunction with a military discount. Thanks for the post and the link.
Lowe's doesn't give you the added military discount on clearance items if purchased in store.
At least that has been my experience and from what I recall reading on their website in the past.

I just want to thank the OP for posting this. Ever since Lowe's changed the clearance markdowns to in store purchase only I've passed on so many of them. My situation doesn't allow me to always jump in the van and run to Lowe's since I'm a caregiver for my disabled fiance.

I used to order clearance items all the time and then pick them up when I was able to. Feels like nearly a year since they changed the system to where only LFP members as the OP mentions are able to order online for store pickup at their leisure.

Since this post came up I've cleaned up on some of the pressure washer deals, the 2 pack fire extinguisher deal (You would think with a 1953 house with 80% cloth wiring we would have had some of these already), 2 stage 30gal compressor deal, and some drawer pulls I've flat out saved a mint.

Total retail at regular price with tax $1,425.18
Actual out of pocket with tax $245.94
Total savings of $1,179.24

I probably could have gotten them to adjust the price of my single in store $15.99 2 pack extinguisher purchase I made on the 12th before they dropped the price to $3.06 same day while I picked up the compressor this morning but hell I saved enough already. Wasn't worth the trouble of explaining to them. LOL
Thank you OP for posting this up.

How do you find the clearance deals? Is there any good ones going on right now?
