S21+ is a downgrade from S20+ in every category except larger battery. So why would anyone upgrade? Are we dumb or is Sammy crazy??

*sigh* No, it's not "a little" faster, this is one of the biggest steps in yearly Snapdragon revisions, along with the other things I've gone over. If you don't care about those improvements, that's okay, this is a premium device not marketed towards casual users like you.

You know how when you first set up your phone, it asks if you want to enable usage reporting? That's how Samsung decided which features to cut in an effort to bring prices down while still maintaining a high quality build and UX. Most people don't use an SD card or a 3.5mm jack in the year 2021.

Especially for people that have been on the upgrade path for Samsung, this is a great deal, considering it'll most likely be worth $550 for trade in when the S23 comes out in 2 years. So yeah, spending $650 is definitely worth it when the actual net cost is $100 to have a top of the line premium phone for 2 years.
Again your condescending remarks miss the point. Yes I am a casual user and I would say vast majority of the users are casual user like me. Say ask 100 users, how many would know or care for this arm core update. I say, minority. So you might be Android developer of some sort but your impression of average user is way out of whack. How you can say people should shell out $650 for this upgrade and cannot wait for the next generation is presumptuous. I would rather people decide for themselves.

You are dreaming if you believe that the value proposition for updating your phone every year or two is there like it used to be. Same goes for your mumbo jumbo and acronyms about all these so called features that amount to slight increment in performance and efficiency. There might be some important new features in the future, but I don't see much in this new generation.

Is anyone else not seeing their order on RK10 for the 10% cashback? I see my Samsung shopping trips but nothing indicating I ordered. I made sure to disable my ad locker and I ordered right through the tab it opened from RK10. It also worked just fine last year when I ordered a S20 Ultra. Should I contact them or wait until the order ships?

To confirm, cancel trick is a no go?
After ship, try chat, say you think about refusing shipment, ask if that is ok proper way to cancel. Rep should respond w discount. Auto cancel discount does not work anymore

Is anyone else having trouble checking out? I'm trying to preorder the Verizon version (upgrade) and after CC input it tells me it can't process the order at this time. Been trying for an hour.

Update:

Seems like it's Verizon that's causing it to crap out. Maybe just me. Dunno.
Clear your cookies. That was happening to me yesterday and I contacted support and they told me to do this and afterwards it worked for me.

Is the headphone trade in combinable with this deal or only if you take credit to purchase separate ? And is the $30 offset by discount of buying it now?

Pre- order credit shows applied but don't see it posted.

Also what's the best credit card to use to get this?

Citi double cash should give 2% so probably the best.

What do you say?

I guess if it doesn't go as planned you could always tell them no and try another rep.
I told them I could get better price directly from my carrier with loyalty discount. For example, Sprint is giving long-time customers with good standing $200 loyalty discount. Just be nice to them, most of the reps will do it if you are nice to them. hug

I am the average user. I have plenty of spare chargers from purchasing past generations of phones. I also have various headphones, both from prior phone purchases and higher end headphones independently purchased for ANC. The $250 credit is great because it allows me the freedom to buy other accessories instead of settling for another charger and headphones. Most progress between generations is incremental updates from all companies not just samsung. $600 happens to be the price point for incremental updates all around. You can split hairs on an sd card, but as the average user, aside from bragging rights, I haven't seen the need for an sd card. Prior generations have taught me just that. Im not storing much past 128-256 gb of photos. Yes they're high quality photos but it's not like I print any of them. At best I text em to friends or family and they get compressed in transit anyway. As the average user, this gen is as much as I expect from an average upgrade.

I think it depends on if your employer offers the promotion, my 20x points said it was exclusive to *** employees.

My Wow Points lists Samsung and Samsung Mobile with different (2x and 20x) point values for some reason. Do a search for Samsung on the site and see if you get 20x.

I have a sprint account with 5 lines for $100. Two of the lines have free s10+'s after bill credits. I am only 6 months in on those phones so am staying with Sprint for another 18 months. I think it make sense to trade these in for the $550 credit as I will still keep getting the monthly bill credits according to the terms as mine is not a lease but a 24 months payment deal. Anyone done the same in the past?
